Do you know if Perkins work on technique alone or does he work on the mental side of it as well?
Technique, but he makes it so simple he believes it removes any mental issues

Hehe. Laughed at the first bit. :D
Yeah we do differ a tad on O'Shea. I agree totally with what you see as his strengths, including the part about being a strong person but IMO he'll lose none of that and gain something extra by becoming bigger and stronger.

Re monsters coming through, I'm assuming you saw that 17 year old kid on 360 a couple of months back. Wow.

Ok. Something obviously went wrong there. :D

Some bold statements there. :p

How can we play butch every week if we have Dixon and Schulz in the team. If Butch does not prove that he has got his kicking spot on then he doesn't play. We can't afford to have a liability in the forwards
Did you read what I wrote. We can play all of Schulz, butch, dix and westy if you play westy of the wing in a floating role you use jay up leading wide and to half forward with butch and Dixon deep or mix and match that. All bar Dixon are good at ground level and at applying forward pressure. If butch plays next year its on the back of developing a forward line structure or him improving his set shot or as a chf who never shoots at goal and puts it to the top of the goals for Dixon.

Unless my eyes are deceiving me the Power list is one of the smallest and lightest in the comp, and if eg Charlie Dixon arrives here at 100 plus kegs and fronts up in round one at 95 kg, I will be just a tad annoyed.
Mmmh ... I am of a different view regarding the weight debate!
Butch's weight is just perfect IMO ... He is not a big-bodied forward, and never will be. But he is no slighter in frame than guys like Jack Riewald et al.

As for Dixon, he IS a big bodied forward, but, maybe a few kg's less might be exactly what his ankles need. Frankly I put my faith in our sports scientists to make the right call on these players. Weight wasn't the issue in 2015, skill and commitment was.

Butch launched a couple of magnificent long straight punts out of the centre square. So he can do it.

Three goals to Butch. Most in the game. Too bad almost the rest of the team apart from Summerton, Clury, Frampton, Masters and Redden played like absolute shit. AFL listed players needed to step the **** up. And they didn't.

I believe Wild Billy replaced Harvs in the 21, who I assume was injured, because the rules don't allow Power listed players to be dropped.

Did anyone see much of DBJ, I didn't because I was out for the entire 2nd qtr, and went backwards and forwards between the computer and the teev for a fair bit of the 2nd half.
Maybe I am being a tad harsh but I think he is just another extremely lightly framed player ( eg the Hoon ) who is just staving off the inevitable.

I didn't see anything today - or last week, for that matter - which would suggest he has a future beyond next year. He is Pittard without the dash, physicality, and wit.

I sincerely hope he can prove me wrong.

Correcto - DBJ is contracted for next year but needs to have more impact on the game. Russell - ditto

Just as point watching the fellatios last night the importance of a genuine monster forward. I really cant see Butcher moving to that level and J really maintaining it long term Dicko it is for me .

Perkins was asked on twitter last week if he has worked with Butch or even been asked and replied he hadn't.

Thanks for confirming that. I find this unbelievable. The worst set shot in the game and nobody at the club thought it might be a good idea to get Perkins in to sort it out. Whatever they have been doing for the past 6 years hasn't been working so if he stays on the list they have to get Perkins down here. Staggering...

I posted quite a while ago about this, and was pretty much shot down that Butcher needs to take it upon himself and it isn't up to the club. A few months later, and now the pendulum has finally swung and people are being more critical of the club not doing everything it can or should be doing to improve the player.

He shouldn't have to take it upon himself. I thought that's why we have numerous coaches, so that they can help the player improve where they are deficient and get the most out of themselves. This should include goal kicking and if Perkins is the best in the business get him here asap. As I said before I can't believe that this has not happened earlier - a definite fail on the part of the club and coaching team.

BOG today according to the club website. Well done John.
Doesn't sound like a bloke who knows his marching orders are in the mail, carn pear one more year the cost is low but the pay off could be so much more!
