It's there to help the mods out when someone breaks the rules, they can't read everything. It's not necessarily for when you personally find something objectionable. Like if pr0n got posted, people would know that's not on and report it, even though they might like it

That's fine and obvious but who cares?

If I see something objectionable I just scroll past it.

I haven't reported a post in at least 6 months. I reported a spate of them a while back before I got banned for wasting mods time, but it would have only been about 10 I think. I saw Fyfie say I have the most reports, if that's true there's not as much mashing going on as some may imagine
