I'm gunna buy a black cat, or a white cat, or a black and white cat, or perhaps a siamese. I need some advice on what to look for.

Someone told me that you should always go for blue eyes as cats with blue eyes have more personality (kind of like the opposite to human females I guess).

Other issue I have is my Kelpie will probably try to eat the cat. Is it cruel to keep a cat inside all the time? I saw these like, cage contraptions at the pet shop, fairly big cage thing, and it's meant to be for cats during the day. I don't want a fat cat, but I don't want a digested cat either.

Our last cat kept trying to kill native wildlife though so I'm determined to make this one an inside cat. Any tips?

I'm thinking something like this:

The siamese certainly looks a bit more evil, which is cool. But the black and white ones are fluffier, and fluffiness is important to me, as a buyer.

Plus, I tihnk I might be allergic to siamese, I know I'm cool with black/white cats but basically every other kind of cat kills me.

Hey RJ,

My cat actually just had kittens, giving them away to good homes, she had 4, go to www.ratemypet.com.au go to the search option type in Little Honey, they look just like her, if you like what you see PM me. If not, don't have much advice, good luck with it.:thumbsu:

Oh and despite what Honey's pic looks like, she's actually pretty fluffy. If anyone else out there would like one just PM me, probably about 4 weeks til they leave here... I just think it goes to show you don't need to by a cat for lots of cash to have a beautiful looking, natured cat, Honey is a prime example of that.

BTW RJ we keep our cat generally inside but also give her the option to go out, but she usually prefers just laying around the house just watching everyone do their thing. Fantastic company, when you get your cat make sure you let it out after a month or 2 and let it do its thing, you will find it will become fairly bored with the outside life and become an inside cat by preference which is cool.

On the other hand, you could grow some testicles and get a real pet...like a polar bear, or a barracuda. :thumbsu:

I have a Kelpie, that's a mans dog. I just want a cat as well, I think they are more susceptible to being evil, and I need a like minded pet. Dogs are far too loyal and obedient, I need a creature of pure malevolence.

That meant either cat or snake, and snakes aren't fluffy.

Stick with the Siamese then. But make sure u get it neutered and registered which is the law in Vic.Next year all cats will need to microchipped, instead of wearing collars.I know this because my mother has a Burmese.

Siamese are quite evil are they? cool. Only problem is the potential of me being allergic to the bastard. Our next door neighbour used to ahve two siamese, they were pr1cks of things.

What's a burmese look like?

And yeah, we always neuter and microchip our pets, not that it helps. When our dog got picked up by the pound they didnt even check for microchipping or even registration the bastards.

1- A burmese looks much like a siamese. Is it just Siamese u are allergic to or all cats?
2-The pound workers wernt doing their job if thats the case,i presume your Kelpie was tattooed to show its neutered?

rick, I cannot emphasise enough, that if you want a kitten, get a Devon Rex. They are the greatest. So people-centric. They follow you round everywhere, they love to climb and love sitting on your shoulders like a pirates parrot. Totally gangsta. Plus they are short haired, so no mess or allergies. Plus, they are super smart. No ********, our Devon fetches when you throw things for him, and we've trained him to literally use our toilet, Meet The Fokkers style :thumbsu:

Best. Cats. Ever.

Yeah I'm allergic to those ones. But he was a cool little critter, he helped you beat me at Xbox by biting me and climbing on to my shoulder. haha.

I can't beleive what I am reading in this thread. I thought you two were both decent heterosexual males. Obviously I was wrong.

I'm most disappointed in you Rick "I need the cuddliest widdle cat I can find" James.

Disgraceful.

I understand your concern, Scratcher, but all the really bad villains have cats, that they can stroke as they hatch their evil plans

LMFAO @ someone on Big Footy inviting the world to have a look at their pussy (and take it home if they like it :D ).

All the world's problems have now paled into insignificance - there should be more of it.:thumbsu:

RJ go the black cat. I have a black cat and she has lots of personality. When I talk to her, she always talks back. She always has something to say. She follows me around the house, she's just gorgeous. She's everything you can hope for in a kitty. If you get a black one i doubt you can find one with blue eyes though. They are blue when they are kittens but generally change to green.

Also, I keep her inside. There are no problems with that, they are easily house trained plus it will keep him or her safe. As long as you've got a kitty litter and a scratching post your set. Inside cats seem to be more affectionate than outside ones however can be very clingy, so they need a lot of attention.

Just a tip when bringing a kitten home, confine it to a small area of the house to start with, and slowly introduce it to new areas. A big house can be very overwhelming to a kitten at first.
