Hard to say whos doing the most to keep the focus off Brads Job ATM, Goldy (for keeping us in the race) Or Hirdy ( for stealing the limelight).
The penny has dropped though.....too many more senior players have let team down.

Boomer sub last week, Gibbo this week, LT dropped...............the team has been given a rocket and Im happy for it. He just couldn't continue to whack easy targets.

I reckon Cunners is in for a shock if he doesn't sharpen up.

That first half, on the back of the GC game two weeks ago and all the talk of how we usually bounce back for one week, was utterly diabolical.

The worst part is the effort was there. It's like what you say about a team full of kids - "the polish will come but at least the effort was there", not a side with 1000 games more experience than the opposition.

I can't sit here and be absolutely stoked over that win against the bombers

We weren't fully in it, it was like a half way effort. A few players had disappeared in quarters and the turnovers were high but against the cats we were great

IF we played like we did against a decent team we would have been put away in the first half

Brad has actually shifted players a lot. Put Waite back, zeebs forward, Bastinac forward, atley half forward so yeah he is trying new things but is this only because of no dish?

I am so cinical only because I can't trust this group is going to really take BS messages seriously quickly enough to salvage the rest of this year

I still think we need a new voice, new direction, new leadership, new development, a fresh new look. Maybe I am over it going into every game wondering wether they can be f**** showing up to play the good footy they're all capable of

Inconsistency in effort is still there. The first half we were outworked, but were kept in it by goldy. The last quarter we mentally switched off and allowed Essendon back to 2 goals behind. Whenever promising signs come, they are quashed by reverting to old habits. We should have pantsed those muppets with such domination in the ruck. Barely excited at all about this one, and still being carried by the same few players.

Melodramatic.

Essendon came out and had great intensity and we didn't execute. We still have stuff to work on, but we did well to work through it and get the win. It happens to good teams all the time. Just look at Freo vs Brisbane a couple of weeks ago.

Honest. We are a dumb footy side.

We played some dumb footy. We also played some good footy. As you point out, the endeavour was there, we worked through a challenge from a young and desperate team who applied great pressure, we controlled the second half and we won. These are good things. All teams get caught by teams who are not as good as them, the good teams work through it and still win. We didn't do it against Gold Coast, we did do it against Essendon.

The difference between good sides (ala Freo) and us is the frequency of the "down" performances. The first half and our decision-making with the ball was closer to the norm than an outlier based on this season to date.

They were absolutely rat shit, and we not only matched their level in the first half, we let them back in to it at the end. Happy with four points and happy to beat the scum, but this season has gone past purely looking at whether we win or lose for me.

Bard was done in my mind after the Hawthorn game.

Unless he brings a flag to NMFC this year(lol) i want the football department cleaned out.

Im embarrassed as a member with the tripe this team is allowed to dish up in regularity. 6 years of inconsistency and still cant put it together.

If Brad's contract expired this year it'd have been fascinating to see what happened.

Conversely we're not done for the year just yet so there's always a chance (albeit slim imo) that we'll be glad we've got him tied up for the extra year.

Nice press conference today Brad.. Please remember you have played zero games for us and Boomer is about to play 400.. It's pathetic how you are treating his 400th. You can't even confirm he won't be the Sub..Can't wait until you are gone Brad.

Brad is showing a lack of respect to boomer, stop talking about his contract not being guaranteed for next year there is a time and place for that, stop trying to act tough all of a sudden in the week about boomer. Friggin disgraceful and where the hell is the president? Not one word from him celebrating the week of a true champion of our club.

Hopefully he's finally been put on notice. Been talking tough since he got back from his surgery. If we don't get some sort of consistency for the rest of the year we have to ditch him.

I saw 360 too and I think it is being underplayed because the club and coach have realised how perilously close they are to ****ing up the last 6 years, and ****ing us for another 10.

So I get why it's being underplayed.

The issue is why it took that 9 goal loss to the Suns to make the penny drop.

He'd be gone without that ****en twit JB. And yes i realise that ****en twit help enormously with our clubs survival. And that's a debt we'll never be able to repay. That of course does not mean JB is the right man to be our Pres. That's for another day.

IMO
Our season is cooked yeah we'll play a final maybe two but with our ageing list you best enjoy this Indian summer because shit is going to go down hill real quick. No Dal , Petrie, Waite , Wells, Boomer, Firito and Thompson. And with no real proven youth we're in trouble. Our FD have misread where we sit which is fine but i dont believe they've the smarts to carry us fwd.

Had their chance and gave it their best, failed now lets move on.

If there is one week where you can make it about a player, it's the one leading into his 400th ******* game.
I agree and I would
sooner have Brent
Harvey than BS. I also hope it is not BS 's decision if Boomer goes on. Well said David King. The club has shown little respect for Boomer letting BS talk in this manner. No success from you BS.no money from me till you are gone and plenty think like me

Brad has given me the ****ing shits this week. Boomer is a living club legend already, and to play down the fact that he's about to play 400 games is a disgrace. Drop the 'tough coach' act for a second, Scott. We'll never see a North player play 400 games again so make the club treasure that like all of us fans do.

The club won't because we can't afford to pay out his contract, but we're at one of those points where it could be more costly not to. He will lose his job next year anyway, so we're basically wasting a year keeping him on - regardless of whether you think we are good enough to challenge for the flag or should be re-building.

He's the 4th bloke in 118 years to achieve this feat. The club, the media and the comp in general should be building statues, not focusing on whether he goes around again. Which, by the way, should be a no brainer.

It may even inspire the troops this week.
