Talk of young players wanting out of the club.
Persisting with Greenwood Turner and co and dropping our most talented players because they aren't following flawed messaging.

That Montagna clip is absolutely damning and should be the final straw.

I'm done with being patient. Any other club and he would have already been shown the door. Get rid of him this week before he does even more damage. Blakey to interim for a few matches.

It's an interesting point you raise there regarding being "patient".

I want the guy gone immediately, nothing personal I just think he has no idea whatsoever on what he is doing, but many people think we aren't being "patient" if we as a club remove Noble.

To be honest, I think us suffering North supporters have been extremely patient these last few years and have every right to demand change due to being exactly that, "patient" with how sh*t we have been and are.

Change must occur and right now.

Grim. ****ing Grim.

Montagna assassinated him without going particularly hard at all. From what people said I assumed he really got dug in, but he basically just laid out how the game changed and what the coach said, then without much emotion gave his opinion on the gap between the half time and full time message.

Christ I wonder how many other times he's given them bad instructions on gameday and then sent them off after a thrashing with homework on what THEY did wrong.

Montagna is 100% corrrect.

If that isn't enough to convince people on what needs to happen, then nothing will.

I want the guy gone immediately before he does anymore damage to this playing group.

The only thing that will be achieved if Noble remains for the rest of the year is to increase the amount of trade deals we might have to facilitate for disgruntled players.

People who watch our games have been saying this guy has no clue for months.

Even without the mixed messaging of Noble, you only have to look at the confusion of players, who eventually just give up, to know that this bloke is so far out of his depth that it isn’t even funny.

I just want to know what have the rest of the coaching panel been doing? Collecting pay cheques and letting an idiot make stupid decisions?

^^ this. Let’s not continue this circus. The damage is done

Some players are clearly unhappy with noble according to the rumours. Where there is smoke there is usually fire

The preseason is obviously where clubs can make big gains (or not) in:
  • developing their players physically
  • improving their decision making and skills in a variety of situations
  • teaching players how to play their positions/different positions
  • developing a game plan that suits the list and effectively teaching that game plan.

There's a framework (that excludes recruiting), it's a set of criteria you can assess any club's preseason on once the list is set. I'm sure there're other criteria that could be added.

In 2021 the opposition were running further and sprinting more than us according to the AFL GPS tracker but this year, despite the insipid losses, we've matched the opposition more often. And it was Kevin White's first year, Daniel Cross is well regarded and some players like LDU and Lazzaro have taken big steps with their fitness. So not sure you meddle with high performance.

The rest - in terms of what was done over preseason - has been a big fail. People can argue all they like about the list and the football spend limitations due to Scott and Shaw pay outs. We still have great facilities but lots of players who should've gone forwards have gone backwards.

Across those criteria, as senior coach Noble takes a lot of responsibility and so does the head of player development.

The sooner we search for replacements, the bigger the pool of candidates and the sooner they can get in and start planning preseason. The success or failure of the upcoming preseason will have a big bearing on 2023. That's why you put an interim coach in ASAP - yes as a circuit breaker but the main reason is to buy that time - the time you need to do the recruiting and the planning.

It just gets worse by the week, it was a disaster 10 weeks ago.

Now it’s a full blown catastrophe.

Indeed.

So if we "wait" for a review when it's quite obvious what needs to happen (immediately) I think it may well lead to larger problems.

The review can do a broader analysis sure, but that doesn't mean decisions can't be made at the same time.

Interesting chat with a contact today. He said whilst some players are very disconnected the others are more worried about what he said is a negative, toxic environment and that is making them look elsewhere - stated Zurhaar as an example of that. Not a happy place to be right now. Don't see how that changes with Noble still there. Needs to be a clearing of the air and Noble has to go now. Said Chocko's name is being bandied about the group but that's more hearsay than anything factual. Few more comments that are a bit hard to state here but certainly the club is not a happy place.

Yeah I've posited a few times that we over corrected on adjusting the pre season and I think it would explain a few things. The gameplan aspect of it just baffles me though.

Look it’s likely it will happen and yeah it should, but I do t mind being methodical, oddly enough for the same reasons we probably need to get rid of him, if we don’t have a good caretaker structure we can do more damage/or affect a smooth(ish) transition. Trust it will happen, I think it’s too obvious not to but we must do it right.

It’s like watching a kitchen fire and hoping it doesn’t spread to the rest of your house.

Get the ****ing fire extinguisher out and put it out now, before your house is a pile of ash.

We don’t need a review to tell we have a massive fire in Noble, so stop it from doing more damage. The review can be used to recommend next steps.

The only reason to wait for a review is if you think that Noble isn’t a problem?

Idc what anyone says about our list, our ability etc he has to go. The longer he stays, the less likely we’re going to hold onto players and hopefully repairs the damage that has been done.

Need to be proactive. I don’t think anyone could stand another game with Noble. We can’t see him coach against the pies. We just can’t afford to wait, we’ve already made a-lot of bad decisions in the past including this one.

Act now

If anyone watched the end of the game as the players walked of you would have seen Zurhaar and Stephenson having a chat where it looked like they were whispering to each other.

I can’t lip read, but the body language was of two players that weren’t happy to be part of this club.

He probably is a problem but perhaps not the only one. I hope when he goes, other changes occur to ensure the next guy has everything he needs

100% agree mate and spot on.

Noble goes now - step one and sure that is one part of the problem, the rest can be reviewed in time which is fine.

To wait any longer is literally the bold.

I just hope they don’t leave it too late. Every week this goes on the players become more disillusioned and it also gives opposition clubs a chance to get in their ear.

While a caretaker coach isn’t going to solve much, the one thing it will do is provide a circuit breaker. Any caretaker coach should be given the mandate to let the players play and see if they can start to get some enjoyment out of their footy.

At the moment they are stuck in some sick experiment being conducted by a lunatic.

The review is make it appear that the Board/CEO have been removed from making the hard call.

‘We got someone external to review the issues, and were acting on those recommendations.’

It’s a review you have when you know what the outcome of said review will be.

Transparent in the extreme.

It doesn't matter if he is the only problem, or just one of them.

Fact is he clearly is not up to it, so that's step one, make the call and then continue to review as required.

Mate, he has to go and if as a club don't make the call this week then we aren't a legit professional club.

He isn’t completely at fault here. But my god it starts with him leaving.

I’m not ITK, but come on, the players don’t give a f*** about Noble and have zero confidence in him and his ability to coach them.

Would love to see him gone at today at the latest. Blakey interim coach.

Then start our recruiting for a new coach immediately. Continue the review and hopefully iron out a few more problems

I’m not saying leave it til the end of year, ideally it’d be done by the time of Walsh’s findings.

I still believe the structure of the caretaker period and transition to next season needs careful planning, sacking noble isn’t the full job, it’s merely one (albeit important step)
