Not sure about Lachie O'Brien to be honest, not just because Murphy is still on the board and we are heavily linked with him. I am not sure about O'Brien in general as what he is good at he seems to be very good at, but his lack of contested ball winning ability is a concern.

Also amazed about Constable as it was only 3 weeks ago that a lot of people had him going just inside the top 10, and now Twomey doesn't even have him in the top 30.

Is this guy a Richmond fan? Carlton won't use pick 10 on a half back flanker when we already have the best one in the league.

I could see it happening. Kade Simpson is old. Docherty could move up to the wing when he returns.

I'd be pretty disappointed if we ignore Stephenson for O'Brien.

How can you be disappointed without knowing what his heart condition details are?

I suspect you'd be disappointed if the Swans took him and he was forced to retire after 20 games due to heart issues.

Agreed.

Carries a back/groin injury through TAC finals, still ends up in the best players despite playing at less than 80%.

Runs his 2km one second slower than Rayner who apparently remains firmly top 3 because everyone knows he has a poor tank, yet for Constable, it’s a big slide?

Makes no sense to me.

His lack of speed at the next level is a little concern but seriously outside the top 30, did these people not watch the Championships or have Constable blinkers on??

I'm calling bullshit.

Cal is a one eyed bomber.

I would be feeling quite happy if the Swans took him at 14. He has been compared to Kennedy and Cripps, you can't just ignore a player who is compared to those two.

He has flaws as a player, but it is so important to get first use of the ball. It can mean everything.

All this talk about Murphy going to Pies, if they pass on him, he's definitely picked by the Dogs at 9, and if the pass Swans will definitely pick him. yet he's at 16.
Constable dropping below Eagles second pick is suspect. Stoddart unlikely to get picked by Geelong and North and could make it to Eagles at 26. Constable would be huge at 21. Balta regarded as in contention for the first round possible 17 to Tigers yet doesn't make the cut of 30.
Swans go to visit Higgins and Lochie Fogarty likely to be around then, don't know why they would choose o'brien over either of them and especially when murphy is apparently still on the board.

Are Swans really going to grab a bloke that put up 18% contested possessions in the carnival at pick 14?

about the only journo in the business that doesn't have us connected to Murphy in anyway. And we leave Stephenson and Fogarty on the table.

LOB better put it together or Twomey better be sitting on old news

I'd be very happy with Richards.

You know we need more than one half back flanker right and Doc just had an ACL injury? Plus Simmo will retire soon.

PLUS Richards has played on the wing as well.

Agreed. O'Brien could turn out to be a very good player, but with his contested ball numbers he is a much bigger risk than I would like the Swans to take at pick 14. He is the sort of player you risk taking in the second or third round.

Who on earth is ryley stoddart?
If cal really does have inside info and these are the eagles picks... im a little bit worried...

Doc will be back in 2019, he is still relatively young you don't draft players for one season. Williamson looks a likely replacement for Simpson too.

Our midfield is in far worse shape than our backline so I'd be pretty disappointed if we use a top 10 pick on a back flanker when players like Higgins or Stephenson were available

A lot of 'experts' have described Higgins as being more of a small forward at AFL level. Stephenson is sliding due his heart condition so we wouldn't exactly be the only club passing up on him.

And like i said, Richards has played wing and even with Doc, Williamson & Byrne we still need more running defenders than that.
