Can Tyrone Vickery.....

The big fella just needs more time in the forward role, going between ruck and forward has hindered his consitancy

Vickery can kick 50 goals next year. It depends on both his role in the side and his own form - being a full-time forward will bring the best out of him IMO.
If he plays both forward and switches into the ruck then it is not going to happen. This is why Hampson will have an influence on Vickery's performance, if he's in the side and easing Maric's workload in the ruck, Vickery can play purely as a forward. If Hampson isn't, then Vickery will be required to spend more time in the ruck.

Could be a problem fitting Hampson into a side with Maric and Vickery already in it though (too many talls?), there would be a drop in forward pressure - the opposition defenders would be moving the ball out of our forward line with ease.

No, he wont be our Cloke, he'll be our Tippet.*

*without the whole affair about money and trading and all that hoohaa.

Hope not, Tippet is overrated massively in terms of his effect. If he can head towards are Corey McKernan, knowing his limitations or even a David Cloke then we have a winner!

Hopefully his legs are built up a bit over the summer and a lot stronger in the trunk!

naaa...arms up is enough for Ty...put some muscle on them and they will stick.

Its more about eliminating the need to be a perfect mark in the hands. If he learnt to jump at the ball, knee bent into a player, he doesn't need to worry about being a perfect catch so to speak. This plus a better use of his body will make him a better fwd.

When his body completely matures he will be one of the most dangerous forwards in the competition.

I believe this is within 2-3 years and could start next year. I'd have him up for 50+ if he players 22 games.

Fair greater competition for tall forward spots now. McBean has shown enough in his first year to start making the selectors begin to toss his name around. If either of Griffiths or Elton also step up then Vickery and A.Edwards will be sweating on their performance every week.

Vickery is there abouts i believe. Just needs some self confidence in his ability and start crashing into some packs. Hes a fantastic set shot for goal and few more contested marks each week could easily see him kick 50-60 goals.

Kurt Tippett v Tyrone Vickery at the same age - Hardly any difference

I think alot here just are impatient and want it all now, Tyrone will become a real weapon next year in 2014 but 2015 and onwards is when we will see him in his prime for 5-6 years and thats when we need him the most - When our window opens
Tippett is quite possibly the most overrated player currently playing AFL .

Could be but the people in the know at Sydney who have built and maintained a good/great list for nearly 20 years seem to think otherwise
If Sydney hadn't had the advantage of Cola , Tippet would still be regarded as the doping Adelaide geek who gets a kick once a year against shit opposition and kicks it out on the full .

And Buddy would probably be at GWS.

Reckon Ty has the goods and we are gonna see it in the next 2 years. I offer no statistical proof but he is is going to become a farkin lethal weapon!

No Carey type obviously(Get the feeling Dimma isnt 'into' star types), but he is going to do his job and kick some ass for us.

Just an opinion but I see Vickory as not quite power forward or ruckman but close to being either. I hope he can have a season that is just not an improvement but a leap forward. I see Tippet comparisons but I'd love to see Vickory learn a lot from Hawthorns Roughhead even though body's may be different he seems capable of that strength, aggression, and skilfulness.

Agree that TV should be aiming toward Veryroughhead type of player . Fwiw I think he is quite possibly already Tippets equal , which I don't rate as real high.

This is what held us back this year IMO. Our stars (Cotch, Jack & Lids) always thinking team first etc.

We need our stars to be match winners. All the best sides have players who will lift and lead their team to victory. Those 3 need to become more selfish.

You could also argue that our players being to selfish and having a ping beyond their capabilities has cost us wins .
