I'm losing it. I really rejuvenated my hope when Damien Hardwick came in and right now it's just gone.

Can we try posting positive things about the club, over and over and keep this thread positive?

Negative posts not allowed

I know all the bad stuff, I have read the rest of the board to see that and the media (which I've completely shut off from existence).

Positive number 1

We're still in the AFL competition.

It's a premiership hangover

Only Richmond win grand finals by losing in week 1 of finals once a decade

restored? come back in the 20's

We've changed our game plan over the last couple of weeks to something more attractive.

We are going to get to see a number of young players play in the AFL.

We still only have to win 10-11 games, and there are 14 left :).

Everyone is playing their worst football so it will only take a small boost for us to improve.

Ben Lennon should play a full game this week.

Matt Dea plays his first for a while, and was looking decent in VFL.

Griffiths was just warming against Melbourne.

Jack Riewoldt has been a prick this week, bookmark a bag...

Geelong in 2006 had a horror year after breaking into the finals in 2005. Brian Cook then undertook a full and frank review. There were casualties (inc fitness coach) and Bomber Thompson just survived but was told to focus on coaching along with other parameters.

The rest is history ...

This Geelong comparison never stops giving! :D I thought 2012, losing all those close matches was our Geelong 2006 year? ;)

I actually posted this in 2008. Hasn't changed much.......

The next Geelong? Hmm, let’s see…..
1. Loooong premiership drought – check.
2. Rabid fan base that seizes on any minor appearance of ability from young players and blows out of all proportion - check.
3. Series of slightly odd choices for coach over the years ranging from ‘Wise, old head’, to ‘Young, modern thinker’, ‘Former champion’ and even ‘Mildly eccentric’, none of whom made much difference – check.
4. Easy target for opposition supporters' derision – check.
5. Suddenly morph into unbeatable super-team that wins flag by 100 pts – aaaaah, have to work on that one……
So overall, most of the signs are promising.
