Everyone thought Nicks was a dud as well , prior to 2025. All of a sudden he is a genius . Things can turn quickly for a coach, a good run with injuries as a starting point. Im backing him in.

Fair enough. I actually like Voss so it's not like I'm hoping he fails. I just haven't seen signs that he's a great coach from his stints at Brisbane and Carlton. If he takes this list to top 4 and a sustained run of contending I'll change my mind.

Carlton fans would get to witness multiple top 4 finishes and preliminary final appearances I'm sure they would enjoy the ride especially after the dark ages of 2002-2007 and 2014-2019.
Waving the white flag by round 13 is 99% certainty
Carlton finishing bottom 4 would signal a return to the dark ages which is highly unlikely given the talent on their list. They haven't finished bottom 4 since 2019.
What talent? They've been overrated for years. Cripps isn't the guy he was, the lost their best forward, their best ruck. They're in real trouble next year

I heard similar things about Richmond this time in 2016 they lost Deledio, Vickery and Griffiths and everyone said they were screwed and needed to rebuild.

Will be the opposite, Curnow going is a blessing we'll have to change the way we play and as far as losing TDK the big strong ruckmen always beat him anyway and you'll find out that he is the 2nd best ruckman at St Kilda.

And Jamie Elliot, Jeremy Cameron and Jack Gunston all just had career best seasons at the age of 33, 32 and 34 respectively... 31 is hardly ancient by AFL standards these days.
He's every chance of bouncing back to his best next year as long as he gets a good run through pre season.

When Jagga Smith gets on the park, he’ll instantly change the way Carlton play.
Currently they are too reliant on one player…… Cripps should play forward … they won’t improve if they don’t find a midfield with out Cripps.
