I agree with most of what you say, however I believe he’s absolutely a key defender - one of the best prospects we’ve seen in the last decade. The man is hand-crafted to play as a modern rebounding CHB and be a perennial All-Australian, he just needs to harden up. Easier said than done.I can keep putting forward the same things but it's somewhat boring already and can only become ever so much more boring, going forward.
Weitering at his best could become a wonderful player, be it back or forward, but Riewoldt didn't become a wonderful player on talent alone and it was his work-rate and work ethic that took him to a new level. Nothing earth shattering there. Cripps has a self imposed standard and what a standard that is.
Weitering doesn't have to push himself nearly as hard, but he does need to step up the rating and stop looking for sympathy. Enough said?
