Also, as has been alluded to by others, Juddy is doing a great job as an unofficial club spokesperson.

His contributions are done under his media guise (with an acknowledged club bias) but in reality he is in cahoots with the club.

It's all perfectly choreographed and he's the perfect antidote to the Whateley/Robbo/Hutchy shit-stirrers.
Did a nice job dealing with Hutchy on FC. Words to the effect of "We aren't SEN where contractual terms are printed in the HS"

Liddle is an excellent media performer.

He answers the questions clearly and stays on message.

The interviews I have heard with him, the journos have tried to trap him in niggly or hypothetical questions. He simply refuses to bite and instead reframes it the way he wants to answer. And legitimately actually addressing the underlying issue and not the point-scoring the journos are after.

Bravo!

Garry Lyon:- 'Are you embarrassed at all that you've got a Friday night contract that is probably suited more to a Hawthorn or a Richmond of yesteryear'

Liddle:- 'No I'm not embarrassed at all. In actual fact some of those exciting players that I spoke about Curnow & Cripps, they're the exact kind of players that you want to see on Friday nights and as we improve, our consistency and our players get a little bit more experience.

I've got no doubt we are exactly the sort of Club you want to see on a Friday night and lets not forget we do have one of the biggest supporter bases in the AFL and Friday nights is largely about broadcast audiences so whilst I appreciate we have been inconsistent in recent times and some of those Fridays haven't gone so well, I've got no doubt as we move into the future, you'll see a vast improvement.

You mentioned Richmond and having spent 8 years there, Brendan Gale had to deal with the same questions 2 years ago and things can turn around pretty quickly'.

Was listening at the time. Thought he handled the interview beautifully.

Bang!

Cop that

Haha, saw that...shut him down immediately

Then there was his face after Caro asked a question, I could see his mind ticking over whether to bitch slap her down a peg or three but eventually turned around and ignored the statement/question with a subliminal internal eye roll

Brilliant!!

Would’ve thought GWS, st kilda, north Melb are bigger ne a stories thanks, afl journos are lazy
I just don't get the unhealthy obsession that the media has with Carlton at the moment.
Do they ask about every other club's player contracts? No. Just Carlton. Cripps and Charlie are not even coming out of contract this year but everyone has to keep asking about them. Cripps has been asked twice in the last week about his contract.
Surely there are other stories that they can focus on.
Enough is enough.

Enough isn’t enough when it works. Their producers have found something that is generating massive clicks amongst a very large and frustrated fan base.

Want the stories to go elsewhere? Stop clicking on or tuning in to football media.

Whateley: It would be an outrage if Carlton got a priority pick...this list is their own fault. There would be a mutiny amongst the other clubs if the Blues got a priority pick

What a lot of BS. Of course it is our fault- as was the Hawks who got buddy and roughhead. There is no actual point he is making other than he is a hypocritical and biased. Lets face it, any club that qualifies for a PP has to admit the fault is theirs. Brisbane had a premiership list and then they failed to capitalise on that. Should they be rewarded. The list goes on.

That's disingenuous. Plenty of speculation about wines, de goey etc. I'm happy to punt the media but lets not go looking for crap too.

I'm disturbed by the possibility that we have been naively 'psyched-out' of applying for a PP by the many haters in the press. Surely not?

The thing is, why would you come out this early on in the year and make such a s statement? Have we already been told by the AFL that a PP won't happen?

At face value it seems to me like a strange thing to come out and say half way through the season.

How does knocking back a PP help the club if we have the opportunity to take advantage of it and we are utterly convinced that we are already on the 'right path'?

Sure it was our fault ………………………… 20 years ago …………… cause 23 years ago we got ban HAMMERED the likes that was NEVER seen by the AFL ….
