Can Sydney come up with a package that satisfies the Blues enough to trade a dual Coleman medallist they don’t want to lose?

Interesting read, but one wonders if there is more to the story.... for me, on the face of it, what is reported doesn't seem enough to ask someone to 'explore their options'.![]()
This Carlton star heard the rumours he was partying. He was in the midst of a much lonelier struggle
Elijah Hollands thought he could overcome his battles on his own. But when he hit a low point mid-season, he knew his problems were only going to grow unless he had a serious reset.www.theage.com.au

It's a puff piece. To encourage another club to have a cheap punt and indicate he's not a write off.Interesting read, but one wonders if there is more to the story.... for me, on the face of it, what is reported doesn't seem enough to ask someone to 'explore their options'.
Except the tone of the piece seems to be that he much rather stay at Carlton. It's a puff piece. To encourage another club to have a cheap punt and indicate he's not a write off.
I think it's more complex than that.Good, don't care what he did, couldn't be worse than a certain Geelong player not getting spoken about..we are not in the position to be moral arbiters, if he's capable of playing he should be given one more chance.
And he is signed for another year. I'd rather cast off players for their lack of on field attributes which we seem unable to do and make a hard decision on that front.
### culture, win games of football and it solves culture, that's all that matters not these 'moral stances' and club culture #####.
Does it specifically mention sobriety?
Hollands now knows he can’t stop working on maintaining positive mental health. He has not had a drink since his mid-season reset, and realises he can’t just tick boxes and rebound.

The quote you might have missed that says everything about Carlton’s post-Curnow era
Dual Coleman medallist Charlie Curnow forced his way out of the Blues to Sydney, triggering a brand-new era at Ikon Park.www.theage.com.au
"A new era, sans Curnow and his bicycle, is upon Carlton. Now, everyone waits to see if this one will be any different than the past three decades."

When he lost his dad.Can someone give a timeframe for when Doc faced this gambling issue?
I can’t the constant ads and promotions and with what the NBA is going through it’s high time the AFL made a stand.
How many players are influenced and affected by this insidious industry.
If the game can’t stand up on its own without gambling revenue it should close up shop!!!
ThanksWhen he lost his dad.
