Tomorrow is a very important game, there is no way we can make the finals but I have a feeling if we beat the pies tomorrow we'll get our confidence back and win another 6 or 7 games in the second half of the season. Finishing somewhere between 9th and 13th would be a disaster.

This would be the worst possible thing for the club! We need to do what Essendon and Collingwood have recently done and that's to tank and get some more great talent into the team, so we need the pies to play good footy and beat us.

I know how you feel mate. In 05 when our year looked like the retreat from Stalingrad you just knew it was pointless to win as it only forced you down the draft list. At the same time you don't want to win the spoon, what a dilema, especially when you would admit that Daniher will probably go at the end of the year. Good luck with the draft, but imagine if they make 8, that would be a disaster.

Melbourne have been impressive footy in the last month though Collingwood are always questioned no matter how well there doing if they win this match and Geelong lose today Collingwood will be equal 1st though 2nd on percentage.

No chance of making the 8 :o

i'm with you brother collingwood by 10 goals hope your barracking for us aye.

have a good one

REALLY want melbourne to win becuase i despise collingwood

but i need collingwood to win other wise i will only get 2 winners for the week

You are a joke of a supporter if you are hoping Collingwood wins.

Wins are irrelevant now, developing our youngsters and getting more talent onto the list is far more important.

But if it's a joke you want then:

A bear and a rabbit were having a sh!t in the woods.
The bear turned to the rabbit and said, "Do you have problems with sh!t sticking to your fur?"
The rabbit replied, "No."
So the bear wiped his arse with the rabbit.

What an f-ing joke!

Wanting to tank games so you can get first crack at the lucky dip that is the draft is pathetic. I despise these kind of supporters.

Our club is not in a position where we can afford to be at the bottom. Imagine the financial loss from poor crowds, sponsors falling off the bandwagon and members refusing to renew next year.

The 'great kids' we attain in 2007 could be playing for the Gold Coast Demons in 2010!

People have short memories. Do we really need another Trav Johnstone or Col Sylvia?*

* Not saying they are shit players but it's evident that they are not the best players from their respective drafts.
The draft is a lucky dip - any first round pick is a good pick up no matter the order. Wanting to lose is weak.

Luckily I don't give a flying **** for supporters like you either, how do you think we got McLean.

By having a disgraceful year that almost sent us bankrupt and saw massive infighting and board upheaval.

I apologise for my earlier post the phrase 'despise' was melodramitic and personal and I withdraw it. We all want whats best for the club. However I respectfully disagree and always will with the philosophy that tanking for picks is a good idea.

Just as added food for thought I was reminded of a well written post by someone from 2005 that seemed to fly in the face of what you are saying now.

*Warning - Long post, if you can't be stuffed reading skip to the last paragrath*

I love my team. I've followed them for as long as I can remember, in fact one of my earliest footy memories was watching Robbie Flower take a mark late in the game and kicking a goal after the siren to beat Footscray; our only win for the season. I remember the joy of finally seeing them play in finals, sharing the pain of Jimmy's blunder and the humiliation of two bad grand final defeats, both of which I went to. I've watched our recent odd/even year form with bemusement, forever towing the party line understanding that the club was building something special.

This year we managed to fall into a great position on the ladder, a game clear in second within distance of the top team and also a chance to knock em off on our own soil. We lost, but it was a glorious defeat (intended sarcasm for those unaware) because we had an excuse, the dreaded 5 day break. The following week we had another crack at a great team, Brisbane. Brisbane's form this year had been shaky, cracks were appearing and doubts were increasing, it was our best opportunity for three years to win a 'home' game away (self inflicted pain), but like Ali in the 'Rumble in the Jungle' the old champ wasn't finished, but unlike that fight the old champ didn't take any hits at all.

Port was next, that's all I'm going to say about that *sigh*

Now came Sydney, our chance to get our season back on track and join the fight for a top 4 spot, but our leaders all missfired, a couple are excused (hey we do that pretty well) but the majority of them lack the one thing that's needed to hold the cup - Heart.

I'm embarrased to use the name demonheart, that's why I'm now retiring demonheart until the they grow some agates and demonstrate their desire to be the best.

Feel free to flame away, afterall they deserve it.

hmmm :o

There has been alot of frustration since then - There are other reasons why I think we need to go down this route, but bigfooty is probably not the place to have a rational debate about it.

I would prefer the dud Demons to turn up tommorow, its unfair to stitch us up after all the other teams got wins off you.

We also had to play the good Port, wish we could play them now whilst they are a rabble
