A strong indication that we are really going to be making the most out of this draft and we consider many quality players will slip through.

I doubt we will give up any draft picks this year. That might mean another very quiet trade period...unless we offer Johnson etc for a draft pick.

We'll be clearly the youngest list in the comp. Makes me want Cousins more for some experience.

We have Dyas, and Keefe will join the list too. I suspect vacating this space may mean they want to rookie list Reed rather than put him straight into the senior list?

Yes, it's a proud moment for me.... getting pretty cut throat to be the first to post these news items!

It's rare to see a bloke get only the one year on the roookie list, but I guess we wanted an extra spot with Keefe, Dyas and maybe Reed taking up spots.

I saw quite a bit of him in the VFL and it doesn't surprise me. He is a similar size to Goldsack, Cox, Anthony etc and would be competing with those guys (and Reed for that matter) for a spot. He is quite thin in build and didn't appear to be quick or filled with skill.

I didn't think he'd ever make it but was prepared to see what another year of development would do for him. It's a shame for the kid but no-one has to worry that we've delisted someone who is going to pop up elsewhere and be a champion.

He was picked up as a potential Key Back but from what I can gather he did not spend a heap of time down back in the VFL.

It's a bit ruthless but if they decided he was not going to make it then good call. That's what we need to do.

Like Timmy said it may mean we have convinced Reed to go on to the Rookie List and elevate him in the next year or two. Either that or with him coming onto the senior list they wanted another rookie spot as it seemed likely Reed and Casey-Leigh would play similar positions.

Does this mean we're more likely to rookie one of our delisted players such as Egan or Iles?

As soon as those two were delisted i thought of that prospect straight away. It would be a good move i think, especially Egan. Might see a second chance as a wake up call to improve his intensity and committment.

To be honest I had the same thought re Egan as well.

Has the ability, but is wasting it, maybe a kick up the arse will get him focussed.

Never seen him play but I don’t know of any rookie dropped after 1 year to have gone on to be an effective player so I wouldn’t get stressed about it at all. When clubs make decisions they don’t have to make they generally have good reason.

My stepfather is in ''Jacks club" at Richmond and I can say they were shocked that the kid got picked up. They really thought he was way off the mark and never going to be nearly good enough.
Remember that he is their former presidents son.
