Even without match fitness, he'd contribute more than Pedersen is currently. Stick him in the f50 and he'd win contests on height alone. Let him play quarters and sub him out if needed (for Jamar/Spencer and Sellar to ruck the last qtr).

Good to see Barry getting a few touches, from what I hear he didn't look out of place at all, could be a good pick up for us.

Want to start seeing Taggert and Tynan put a few good games together, want to see these guys push for selection this year, they're the type of players we need at the moment but they need to earn it.

Barry is a really good kid and is always putting in the extra yards watching vision and getting advice. Has put on plenty of weight since joining the club too. Around 7-10 kilos, noob gains as he was only 65 odd to begin with!

I'm a bit dissapointed that Toumpas isn't playing - Sellar would've been ok as the lone emergency imo. Still, a week off can't hurt.

Hogan is a gun, can't wait to see the #1 jumper out there next year!
Looks like Rodan had a great game. The great VFL form this year of Gawn, Spencer and Fitzpatrick so far means Jamar may find himself in the reserves by the end of the year.
Jordie McKenzie could come back next week, shame we still can't promote Jimmy Magner.

Joe Daniher did well for the Bombers and Matty Bate kicked a couple. Great win today Scorpions!

Just got back from the game, worth noting that the Essendon side was C Grade at best with barely any AFL players so no need to get overexcited BUT having said that:

- Hogan is immense. Two of his goals were freebies (running into open goal on advantage from free and a download free) but he created at least three for others. His field kicking isn't great, and he has an unorthodox run up for set shots but his marking is magic.

- No surprises considering the score but all the MFC listed players were good. Spencer and Fitzpatrick were absolutely dominant in the ruck (though god know who they were against), McKenzie did well (though I was surprised to see him having 31 touches, must have been a lot in close) and both Magner/Couch were good for what it's worth when they can't play.

- For the benefit of any visiting Essendon fans I'm sure you don't need to be told but Joe Daniher looks sensational.

It was a bit like watching the MFC seniors play, Casey flogged them out of the middle, they got a big run on which blew the game to pieces, Essendon only had one decent forward and couldn't get it to him enough and their backline tried hard but were overwhelmed by weight of entries.
