I thought we had a decent run in the first quarter, it must have been wildly one sided after that
19-7 after quarter time.

Always knew they'd get ahead of themselves, when they've played two sides who have a combined total of 15 wins in the last 2 and a bit seasons, which is the same amount of wins we had in the H&A season in 2024 for those keeping score at home.

Will be awesome to see them crash back to reality next Sunday.

Cameron is about to explode for a bag.
Stengel is simmering as well.

We may get beaten in the middle but I know Carlton aren't moving the ball like Hawthorn did and we still cut them to pieces at every opportunity. If Carlton can't lower the eyes going forward, the ball is going to be coming back on world record pace.

Geez its great seeing the Hawks walk into their rooms after playing us with their collective heads down and hands on hips.

GO Catters

I noticed Nick Watson and a few of the Hawks players were doing a "Ja Morant" as a goal celebration and pretending to throw a grenade into the crowd and covering their ears.

I guess after his last shot at goal, Watson accidently held onto the grenade and threw the pin instead.

The loss of Miers next week is going to hurt. When he is on and nailing his kicks, he is close to the most watchable player in the comp, and we are immediately a 4-5 goal better team. Very few can come close to what he is able to do.

I'm just hoping he comes back from the concussion okay and it doesn't hurt his form/confidence.

He's the wizard. He made the 4 points disappear with that miss.

FWIW for those that watched on TV.
Hawthorn fans. Grown adults... Actually go to the footy in Wizards hats.

They actually block peoples view at the footy, I’d just take it off their head and say we’re at the footy not Harry ****ing Potter.

As usual, the team board of the opposition we defeated is relatively realistic and honest. Weren't good enough, missed some crucial plays, a great Cats team capitalized on our mistakes, etc.

But a few other "neutral" boards (one in particular) going absolutely off their trolley with hate and insanity.
Drives some of them absolutely nuts that we prove to be good year in, year out. What a brilliant club we are.

What a game.
I'll digest it properly later but mannagh is a star and stengle and him noticeably lifted when miers went off. Them and Smith and Holmes are the reasons why we won a game we probably shouldn't have.
We have some real structural issues with our midfield clearances plus Neale up forward (he did some good things and some terrible things) plus guys like Henry and Dempsey that need to be far more competitive at times. Today makes me think redrafting someone like Krueger who will throw himself at contests with no regard for his welfare probably isn't a bad idea (some other club will get him its just a thought bubble). We just need to win enough games to make top 4-the next 2 weeks will tell us a lot.

My major worry is him coming back from that , it’s as bad as a concussion can get he was stiff arms on the ground

Most players take weeks to a month to get back to normal …Nash should absolutely get 4 weeks for that

Won't just be next week unfortunately. Players who get concussed have 12 days off, and we have two 6 day breaks coming up, so he'll miss the Collingwood game as well.

In another example of how Champion Data rating points mean 4/5ths of SFA, Hawthorn had the 5 best players on the ground, and 7 of the top 8, yet still lost.

For added fun, Neale with the equal 9th highest SC score for us tonight - more points then the likes of De Koning, Cameron & Stewart

If Neale converted his shot on goal in the second, he may have also outscored Smith, Holmes & Humphries

I don't normally pay much attention to those things

Stengles chase down on woddle was massive for him. He really turned it up a notch from that moment. So good

I reckon the conversation was had when Gryan was bravely walked off.
We really really need you to stand up. Show up the pricks going the man.
And he did. Pity only 2 seconds robbed him of a last goal.
