Yeah the year isn’t over yet , good second half and hopefully with many of the players returning can shore up the wins and get some form heading into the finals .
At our best we are much better than some of the teams in the top 8, do I think we can win the flag?…Probbly not but we should do whatever we can to get a shot at it
Watching SDK today was like watching the game on TV and listening to Krock Live. His reactions seemed to be several seconds behind the action.

Not to mention the GWS player holding Mannaghs ankle too not letting him up. Either way it was 50m.

As the season goes on the same issues are presenting as last year. We simply cannot halve contests down the line.
Jye Clark was alarming. I thought early in the year he was turning it around but 3 possessions in 3 qrts. Wow! I’m not sure Mullin should be playing without role.
COS going through some learnings. He’s a talent but is struggling a little in the one on ones. We got to keep going as he’ll get better. (Much better) but right now he’s lowered his colours a few weeks in a row. Doesn’t help when he looks around and SDK is giving out some of the efforts he is getting away with
Cameron, Stengle and Close are miles out of form. More than people think. The half fwds have quite frankly been uncompetitive with the ball they have been getting. Miers has been playing well but even pre hit he’s been shirking too many contests. Henry started better today but completely thrashed again after half time. It’s infuriating watching him chase when the ball turns over. He simply doesn’t care.
Can we please save Mitch Duncan’s final two games to 300 for games against Rich and WCE.
I think deep down in the big games and in big finals I’m worried about at least 10 of our players with their desperation and effort. That seems odd to say about a team that wins so much.

if both Stewy and Henry are out again next week I wouldnt be against Kolo coming in. Need at least one player that is solid one on one as that deepest defender. Thought Bews looked good and should stay in regardless who is back next week.

you missed Neale, he is having little to no positive impact on games at the moment. I'd almost rather play Rhys even as a fwd over him at the moment. Against the blues he was too scared to take set shots and rushed everything.
Making up the numbers in the 8 is about where I see us this year. Too many deficiencies and atm at least, too many out of form players.
He has always had a slow run up but it always had rhythm to it.
This year his run up is all over the shop and he nearly always runs too close to the mark
Lots of players that should be dropped. Neale and Oliver Henry for a start - drop Neale for Polkinghorne and Oliver for just about anyone.

My Tilly:.... we're not making up the numbers at all, that's negative thinking in the extreme and I sure hope the players don't feel that way. With the Giants they were brave but we still lost a game we should have won (it happens) and are still a shot at the flag regardless of what some Geelong BigFooty doomsayers may say. Get our first ruck back with either Reece Stanley in shorter term, then hopefully Toby Conway in latter part, then get our four main backman back in Jack Henry, Kolo, Lawson Humphries and Tom Stewart who can also play as a contested mid if necessary.
And fortunately, it also appears Tanner Bruhn will be back whom we've also missed badly and who will make a significant difference when he returns if certain rumblings are true. That's six players that will make a 'huge difference to our side' when they're up and running in the second half of year in which overall we have a very soft draw. Losing a couple of close games with so many important and crucial players missing from our best side has overall been more than a OK performance with the Crows, Hawks and Magpie contests 'all top away wins'. So sure, we need a bit of luck on our side but then again so does every other side and as it stands we've still got plenty to look forward to and are still a real shot at the 2025 flag.... and GO CATS !!!
PS - By all reports the Geelong medical team think they've finally got on top of Jack Martin's injury woes and he still may remain a wild card for us come finals because he has unquestionable X factor and would be extremely handy to our forward line.... here's hoping anyway

Some of you guys a little to upset. I know we could of won it but we're doing really good considering some of the guys we field, don't think we're good enough for top four but we should make the 8 and with a decent run you never know with this team.
Lack of top picks is starting to catch up with us, expecting Smith to magically carry the whole midfield alone is too much to ask, that's why I was big on Oliver last year, he'd keep a player like Clark in the VFL, I'd take 27 dirty disposals over 3 any day. Mullin, Clark, Neale, O.Henry, SDK, MOC, Bowes, these guys should be fighting for a spot in the team instead they're start ups because we have no depth.

their whole game plan was to attack from half back on the counter and get out the back.
they have done it every time they come down to GMHBA and we continue to play into their hand by playing the high press. It's fine to play that press when you have Henry, Stewart and Lawson down there to help recover when we do turn it over but not when SDK is the last man back there. His recovery speed is horrible and cant defend deep 1 on 1.
He might be sooner than we think.
We are on same points as Dogs who many are talking up for the flag.
Losses will come for the teams above us as well.
Not panic stations but we need our backline back and for the forwards to lift.

too slow to play deep, the Henry out is the biggest issue with the team at the moment. SDK looks much better further up the ground. He even defends better up the ground as an inceptor on oppo D50 rebounds.

Hmmm. Not sure I agree. We lack depth, but if we get a bit of luck and manage to go into finals at full strength, I think we can beat any team in the comp. Stewart, Kolo, J. Henry and Humphries are 4 of our best 5 defenders and all of them are missing right now. Get that group back into the side and get Stengle and Cameron back in form and we have as much of a chance as anyone.
His ruckwork was what I was most concerned with. That alone cost two direct goals.
He’s struggling but I feel you have to just keep playing him to 50 games. We literally have nobody else. At least he can say he was playing on a AA caliber player.
The easiest of all was Danger, did a great job to get the intercept but he should have put the jets on and ran into an open goal instead of the pass being at the heels. That should have been a certain goal and game would have been well and truly over. But yeah, between those three missed opportunities we well and truly stuffed things up and handed GWS a win. It's a game we should have won but there's still much to look forward too.
