SDK was exposed tonight because he was forced to play as the last line of defense in the high press which he isnt suited to at all. Henry and Stewart are the two that do it the best. So often tonight SDK and COS were the ones having to do it and neither of them can. Is why Hogan got the easiest 7 goals you'll ever see. SDK only ever looks good when he is up the ground or playing on Aaron Naughton.

Giants must have good intel. They are always running to right places at critical stages in a game. Some of their gut running types are constantly patrolling the wings and making it difficult for us to go coast-to-coast.
Kelly and Bedford would further empathized this. Bedford in particular who is now a terrific tagger. Giants have a pretty good schedule in the second half of the season. Should set themselves well from here.

Our best is as good as anyone's in the comp. Just frustration that it's a game that 100% should have been won.

I get that we're short on options but Clark continuing to get a game is ridiculous, he's so far off AFL level it's not funny. Give Stevens a chance or restructure the side to fit Polkinghorne in or something. Jhye should have been dropped multiple times already this year, the MC have blinkers on when it comes to him.

9 out of 10 times he runs in and has that shot. Now he might only execute the skill 50-60% of the time but that was better than the dink chip 10m to a stumbling player.

Mannagh was the opposite. From 55m under pressure you hit it up to 15m out.

Oh well. Skills win matches. GWS made better decisions in their forward half.

It's not just Geelong but you often find when teams lose close contests or lose games they should have won like Geelong did today that players, even the very good ones do the unexpected poor things/executions during the game or at the most critical times in the game, it happens to the best and to why all is not lost for the Cats by a long shot.

I ask you Mr Meow: how many sides would be winning games of footy against a highly competitive side like GWS was today without a first ruck, plus not only their 4 best defenders out but all of those 4 players have more or less been in All Australian squad category form for some time, yet we still should have won. Still 'plenty to look forward to 'for the pussycats in 2025.

PS - Shaun Mannagh has got to learn on occasions not to be so selfish, has all the skills and overall has been great for us but he needs to take easy options when available, coz come a big game, especially in finals it can cost you 'big-time'. Toby Greene cost GWS going into a grand final when in last few seconds he went for a banana goal, yet he had a GWS player on his own in 10 metre square. In time it really does get you, this unselfishness and needs to be stamped out by all and sundry.

Sam De Koning is one of the most gutless, mentally weak footballers I've ever seen.

Ollie Henry is probably a lovely bloke, but he just doesn't have IT.

A few soft efforts when players need to put their body on the line, including Close near the end.

Stengle really needed to kick that matchwinner with his poor season so far.

Baz, Dempsey, Holmes and a few others can keep their heads held high. Annoying because we outplayed them but poor goalkicking cost us.
