Cats v Crows

No real suprise in the selection this week with Sugar & Stinger returning. Just a question of whether the Crows play another tall (ie. Handby or Hewitt) for another small (ie. Mattner or Shir). Can't see Shirley being selected unless there is a flu epedimic at West Lakes.

Geelong I expect will make just the one change with Ling coming in for Hunt. Although I suppose if they are worried about the dual Crows ruck combination they may bring in Street, which would also allow them to play King forward at times.

Hi Crows fans,

I just thought I'd drop into your board to wish you all the best for Sunday's game against us. Lets hope it's a good game with the Cats coming out on top in the end. :):)

Cheers & Go Cats!!

I had a quick look at the thread on the Cats board but it looked too big to jump into and start talking, but yeah good luck!

Crows by two goals.

I have a feeling we can win this one, reasons being,

1, Cats are due a loss after 7 straight

2, Cats have had 2 big wins against the dons & pies past 2 weeks
they could be on a downer

3,Crows side looks like it's getting back to full strength

4,Gary Ayres should have inside knowledge of Cats players [well most of them ] & Shell stadium

5,Left foot of Simon Goodwin is finding the goals again

6, We need to win to hang on to 4th spot

Well anyway it sounds pretty good to me,;) ;)

Matchups

Backlines: Smart should matchup well on the dangerous Kingsley & Kenny should have enough strength for the bustling Mooney (who has also been in good form the last few weeks). I like Edwards on Lord & Hart on Burns (although I think Ayres is more likely to use Crowell). Stenglein may get Riccardi, as there is no real standout in the Cat's midfield (ie. they are an even team).

Midfield: This is where the Crows must win the game (even accounting for King's likely influence in ruck). Who will Ling pick up? He can't pick them all up - ie. McLeod, Riccuito, Goodwin, Johnson, Bickley, Bode, etc v Ling, Rahilly, Enright, Kelly, Corey & Co. Surely our experienced midfielders can put the young Geelong guns under the pump. They have been up for a while, so it's time to put them under pressure.

Forwards: Harley v Stevens, Scarlett v Burton, Beinke/resting ruckman v Graham (what do we do if Graham pushes forward?).

I'm feeling confident about this game. Geelong have had a couple of huge wins in the last few weeks & the big question is can they keep it up this week? Crows by 22 points. :)
