Martin has been good, that smother just then was great, love that pressure, and based on that I think he will make it, cause I think Craig likes that sort of thing, which is probably why Martin stayed in the side from the All Star game. Bode-esque pressure, early days I know, but reminds me of that pressure.

Happy so far with Petrenko, and Otten so far
Shirley and Doughty are playing very poorly.

Anyone who expected anything better than a 5-8 goal loss was kidding themselves.
Our gameplan still relies so heavily on pinpoint disposal, and we didn't show signs of improvement in that department tonight.
But it's February. This time last year we were still washing the sheets after our demolition of Collingwood in Dubai. I'm happy we don't have to take this lame pre-season comp half seriously now anyway. Keep that for Round 1.

The difference with that passage of play was that it was direct.
NO backwards handpasses. Played on, went forward, like Geelong have done all night.

In periods of this game we've been really good. Can't expect the younger guys to play perfect football this early in their careers and this early in the season. Jacky, Otten have been good. Sellar has shown a little bit also.

The ump told Otten that he was over the mark and paid 50 metres. Otten was standing inside the 50. Goal scored from 1 metre out - paid a super goal.

Sellar hasn't shown anything. The mark he took was clearly hands in the back, and after that he turned it over with his other possessions basically.
Otten is the major positive from our young players. Jacky and Martin will probably make it but need more time. Petrenko also looked good when he has had it..
The mark was taken at 47 metres so still not a 9 pointer

Oh I wholeheartedly agree. It's a NAB cup game against a team that lost 2 games in all last season.
We've a lot to work on though.

dont beleive radio.
A few years ago the radio will say great mark best in so long. watch the delay later just so ya can watch it. Thats it.
Radio will use stats that can be skewed by poor umping.
At least the Reds beat Roar 1-0
