Reasoning:
- Swallow, Bennell and Day are all but locked in for top 3 and deserve to be.
- Gaff has silky skills which is what WC are after,
- Gorringe the best ruckman and GC will chase height (risk of being taken at 6),
- Heppell is bolting upwards in value and quickly, plus has trained at richmond in 2008
- Atley and Polec a toss up, could go either way
- Lynch at 9 as another KPF, a slightly safer bet then Day
- Parker a good young best available mid
- Watson, McCarthy(Pk 13.) KPD's - watson first as he is ready made
- Cook @ 12 is a nice tall forward to help out Watts
- Lycett, an SA boy goes to one of the home clubs who both need ruckman
- Pitt - Gold Coast used last 3 on KP's so will get a mid
- Smith, good mid from SA
- Lamb, young midfield at roos, this will boost the forward line - toss up with Harper
- Carlton dont need smaller forwards, jacobs gets a lot of footy off half back
- Hawks to snare either of Harper or Lamb
- DARLING SLIPS TO 20! attitude issues will worry many clubs out. freo to take WA boy
- Smedts impresses me, could go earlier
- Wallis first of the dogs F/S's
- Caddy is a strong mid who can go forward ... best available
- Hallahan a great leader, had good champs too. Saints will take no risks on charcters
- Green got a go cause i was running low on options haha

Cant beleive no-one has said it yet - but great effort man :thumbsu:

Dont know about pick 20 but I suspect Darling will slip further than some suspect as well.

Any chance Lynch could last till pick 12 in your opinion?

A lot of people have Gold Coast picking up Lycett under the assumption they need a young ruckman.

They already have Zac Smith, Charlie Dixon and Rory Thompson. Zac Smith and Charlie Dixon would be first round picks. Zac just got named in the VFL team of the year, not bad for a kid and not a bad size at 205cm and 97kg.

Gold Coast have plenty of young and very talented ruckmen. They will draft a mature aged ruckman - e.g. Orrel Stephenson, David Hale or someone like that.

They will go for a key forward or two and a few key defenders and stock up on some more mids.

Look you would have to be extremely lucky i believe. Although all of the other teams who finished below you on the ladder this year need and will select midfielders, i reckon Gold Coast will be the ones who pick him.

- They already have/will select a whole heap of mids and will be looking for some KP types to develop. Also with the benefit of having every second pick they can be selective about who to choose when. For example... Gold Coast will identify that Melbourne are a club with plenty of young Key Defenders and a greater need for another big forward, so the GC will be sure to select the key forward they're after before the Dees selection @ 12.

Good Luck though - i reckon Tommy Lynch is one very exciting proposition :thumbsu:

ps. thanks for the positive feedback!

Adelaide need a ruckman now, not in 2-5 years' time. Can't see us picking a ruckman, particularly not first round, maybe late/rookie. Plus I can't see us passing up on Smith, provided he got that far! Mids with pace, and inside ball winning mids are what we need, Brodie fits both categories.

You may be right chinggis and GC may not pick up a ruckman early - but to say they already have three AFL grade ruckman is wrong IMO. Smiths a great ruck prospect, not arguing that. However, Charlie Dixon is as close to Kurt Tippett as you could get, much better up forward IMO and played most of his VFL season there from what I saw too. While Thompson, I'm not overly confident he will make the grade and if he were to I would see him as a forward utility rather than ruckman.

They may pick up Peter faulks from willi. He has been one of the best vfl tall defenders all year. Would love to get him at the dogs but doubt he will last . Could play round 1 next year for gold coast. Reminds me of Dale Morris

Darling may be an interesting one - Rumoured attitude problems coupled with the bottle smashing a few weeks back

Once again Brisbane would not pass up Brodie Smith for Luke parker!

Once again it is his Phantom Draft and not yours. Seriously people make these statements all the time and draft day comes along and people get shocked.

There would have been 100 people that would have stated, there is NO way the Dockers will skip over Rich for Hill. Look what happened on draft day.

I am sure many years ago people would have said there is no way that Daisy would have been selected at pick 2.

but i haven't?

no you have the other South Australian ruckman (Gorringe) going to Gold Coast (at pick 5)...

As mentioned previously Gold Coast have 5 ruckmen over 200 cm and another ruckman (Tippet's brother) who is 198cm on their list

So they (GC17) wont waste a early draft pick on picking another young ruckman (such as Lycett or Gorringe)

i agree (that GC17 wont be picking a young ruckman with their first picks) i also think that they will stock up with young mids and KPP forwards and KPP Defenders

I just watched Smith and Polec play today in the SANFL finals...both these guys will be on the Lions Radar. I personally rate Smith the better as he seems to have a greta inside and outside game with composure under pressure. Polec seems pretty solid when he uses his speed to find space, but feels the pressure in tight a little too much

Smith won't be passed by the lions unless atley or gaff slide
