Just unexplainable and inexplicable where Liverpool’s season has gone in the space in 10 matches.

It really shits me when goalkeepers rush recklessly out of their box. Neuer and Pope have gifted easy goals in situations where there was still plenty of defensive opportunities and work to score left to do.

That's been Neuer's one wood for 15 years

For a long time he was the absolute master at it.

Maybe at 39 it's time to put it away though.

Bayern Munich should be motivated to beat Arsenal after Thierry Henry said he has a "question mark" over players from the German Bundesliga, explaining that the league's open and stretched nature makes it easier to succeed, which may not translate to the more intense, space-constrained Premier League.
Bayern got dominated.. maybe Thierry’s comments are spot on?

Aside from Neuer’s moment of madness, he kept Arsenal out 3-4 times. The final margin wasn’t reflective of the domination much like the weekend in the PL.

Kane did his best to flop around and the standard hard tag of the referee, however failed to register a shot on goal. That was outstanding from Arsenal. The second half was just next level. Trossard injury the sour note and hoping it’s not too serious.

Poor form or have the players downed tools?
I will give them the slightest possible bit of leeway for the Diogo Jota tragedy. Reading the Andy Robertson piece about Scotland World Cup qualification and where his head is at, it’s a deeper wound for the playing group than I’d expected.

But now, in November, that should be in the past now as far as their on-pitch performance goes, I’d have hoped.

Who knows but you can’t spend that much and miss Champions League. I expected a drop off this season while we gelled. I didn’t expect this which looks like we’ve downed tools and/or the Jota tragedy has sapped us.
Klopp trusted his squad. Slot doesn’t seem to trust anyone outside of about 15 players.
Who knows but none of the EPL teams should be getting turned over at home by PSV or away to Galatasaray. Not even Tottenham.

I've been through what these guys are going through.

Almost identical circumstances too. 2014: win the flag, become mates for life

Week before the 2015 season starts: one of our boys is taken from us in a car crash. Out of respect for us the league postponed all matches for a week.

At the time it was the most painful thing I'd ever been through. You think you're doing okay and then game day comes and you see the empty space in the locker room - the jumper hanging on the wall... and it just hits you.

We didn't win a game all year.

Behind all the banter, I know these Liverpool boys will be hurting. You could see it in Robbo after they qualified for the World Cup.

The stats might give the impression that Liverpool were dominant. 63% possession. 27 shots to 9. 55 to 9 touches in opposition box. But they didn't work hard enough when they didn't have the ball.

All 4 PSV goals were a shambles from a Liverpool point of view. Van Dijk playing volleyball from a corner. Salah letting Mauro Júnior skip past him so he had a heap of time to deliver a through ball. Konate completely missing a simple ball allowing PSV to surge forward. Gakpo lost the ball on the edge of the PSV box. PSV sprinted forward, the Liverpool players jogged.

Liverpool did win more duels, both on the ground and in the air. Made more tackles than PSV even though they had almost double the passing stats. I think they worked hard enough, but PSV like many teams are playing the counter to Liverpool possession expertly.

I’d like to see Slot play 3 at the back, 2 wing backs to provide width, and a second DM to guard against this, but we know it won’t happen.
