Er, I think you mean 'accept' - and you are right. A major difference between this 'corporatised' crackpapering era and the ruthless mob that got us three modern premierships.
Who coached our last flag, and how many players left from that 2011 team?

Gotta laugh. Just going through my emails. One minute the supporters are introverted knitters, next thing we are receiving emails regarding crowd behaviour. Are we now the official AFL thugs?

Are they telling us not to stab folks with our knitting needles? :P

I was near the fight, was legit 4 drunk blokes just pushing and shoving, no one was hurt no legitimate punches were thrown, was the worst fight I've ever seen. Massively overblown.

Cam Guthrie is a terrible defender (makes mistakes, is not desperate), but is a very capable and damaging winger. He is being played out of postion too often.

I would play Kelly permanently half forward and use Guthrie through midfield more. In similar role to what Motlop used to play.
yeah Guthrie butches the ball too much and turns it over as a consequence. Use his speed on the wings would be a good idea.

Back then he made the hard decisions, dropping Mooney and Milburn being the standouts,he now sits around singing Kum Ba Yah.
With a good looking Lebanese man....

Your point?
Scott's flag 2011, while laudible, was arguably assisted by riding in on the coat tails of the previous administration and a team of pissed off champions with an axe to grind.
Not sure where you are going with that second question?

Don't agree with everything you are saying, but can see the point of view. Few years ago I thought Guthrie would become an elite mid, but his last 2 years have been disappointing. Not opposed to trying him there again though

Would rather drop cunico and move Guthrie to a wing. Bring in Thurlow to replace Guthrie off half back and keep Kelly where he is, if we're to go down that route.

Back to discussing the game...if the team turns up with the attitude ' a gimme - home game against a team a few rungs off the bottom' - they will be sorely embarrassed (not to mention almost a certainty to miss the finals).

Basically, if we lose this one then we don't deserve to play finals.

I respect your right to have an opinion about a player's performance or if the MC is guilty of favoritism or not. At the end of the day, I really don't give a stuff about such things because I have no control over who's picked or not, and I'm pretty sure they won't be reading BF to get some tips on selection. It's just part of the rollercoaster of barracking for a footy team.

You'd bloody well hope not....

To answer your question for the waffler, Selwood, Menzel, Hawkins, Taylor, Duncan were in the Scott won flag and still remain. Still hard to believe that was 7 years ago.

Will be interesting to see who Josh Walker takes, no disrespect but has he being playing bk or fwd ? If bk might be up against tomahawk

On [device_name] using BigFooty.com mobile app
Walker has been playing back since Andrews got concussed. He has actualy been doing a sensational job down back, so much so that we haven't actually missed Andrews that much. In saying that, l would assume Andrews would get Hawkins with Walker taking intercept marks. Would think it would normally be the other way round but l think we are easing Andrews backso he doesn't have to get in the hole.

I would think Darcy Gardiner might get Menzel or one of your resting forwards (Danger, Abblet etc.), got to be careful of Gardiner as he has rarely got beaten this year.

We have lost a great number of irreplaceable champions, that is all. Fairly obvious.

It's a huge game in terms of our season. I'd like to see Menzel hit some form and start kicking some goals. We need him firing to have any chance of impacting finals. Will any of our small forwards take a game by the scruff of the neck. We need to find one who can impact the scoreboard. Fogarty, Parfitt and Narkle are more midfield types.

At the beginning of 2011 nobody tipped the Cats to win the flag, after our appalling display against the Pies in the Prelim some were even tipping us not to play finals that year. Scott had the ability to get the players to buy-in on his strategies. Many were criticising Scott for not settling on a best 22 and constantly resting/managing older players and it wasn't until the very end of the season that our best 22 became more apparent. Not picking Mooney and Milburn was another tough decision that I'm not sure Bomber would have done. "...riding in on the coat tails of the previous administration..." I don't think I have ever heard this excuse to diminish a successful coach before, I remember Parkin taking the Blues to back-to-back in his first two seasons and was touted as a genius.

I know every club has its fair share of ferals, but from observation Geelong and Melbourne have far fewer and our and their supporters seem far more reserved than many others notably; Collingwood, Richmond, Hawthorn, North...throw in Crows and Dockers supporters as well.
Reported exchange, Geelong fan meets Melbourne fan post siren;
Cat: "Get going Gawn, you're hopeless and should retire".
Dee: "I beg your pardon. Did you just insult the best ruckman in the country?"
Cat: "Indeed. Look at the scoreboard".
Dee: "You disgusting countrified beggar, how dare you."
Cat: "How dare you, you city snob".
Dee: "I warn you sir, apologise or I shall strike you with a vengeance".
Cat: "Let me point out to you sir, that you are in fact a guest in our fair town and should oblige to behave as such".
Dee: "Right. Take that (strikes Cat with a glove across the cheek)...let that be a lesson to you".
Cat: "You dare resort to fisticuffs! Cop that (slap across the cheek)."
Dee: "(to his friend) Maurice can you assist me in dealing with this upstart hayseed? Take that (strikes again with glove on cheek).
Cat: "(to his friend) Bazza can you give me a hand. (Bazza and Maurice start hurling punches)
(Cat and Dee are both entwined in mutual headlocks)
Dee: I shall defeat you with both strength and moral superiority...ahh.
Cat: I shall grind you into the dust at this hallowed ground...erghh.
