Then drop him the next week after 37 hit outs and 7 possessionsImagine if they actually picked Sam Hayes. I'd fall off my chair

His comments on Teakle and Lycett:
Carr on his Brynn Teakle and Scott Lycett
“Teakle played his fourth game and he's still got a lot to learn…in the actual ruck itself he gave us a good contest (on Friday). The numbers I don’t think match up to what the contest was inside and the way we were able to get some efficiency in the stoppage. There are a number of those conversations that we'll be having this week. (Teakle) will get better the more games that he gets. (Who plays in the ruck is) a decision that we have to make as coaches (based on) what's right for the team and (Teakle’s) development, but more importantly it's about the team.
“Scott copped a bit of a knock early in the (SANFL) game on the weekend. He just needs to build his form and play really good football at that level to knock the door down and get chosen. He's probably not quite there yet but that doesn’t rule him out this year
Sorry Josh but Teakle has to do more than get the tap. He has to get some of the footy around the ground. Against St Kilda he did not take a mark and had only 8 possessions. He did not have a kick. On those stats he has a lot of improving to do and he has to do it quickly.

I reckon drop teakle and have dixon and finlayson do the ruck work. Butters is too good of an inside mid, and finlayson is too good of a follow-up ruck. The marshall can come in and we will play 4 talls against an undersized bombers backline. Bonner goes to wing for duursma, burgoyne stays as a back backman and scully or mead can play medi-sub.I actually think Teakle is a best choice THIS week. Draper & Phillips would run Hayes into the ground. Maybe even keep Lord in to chop out a little in ruck. And have Butters and Finlayson spend some time on the wings. I think they are both good decision makers & creative delivers into the forward line.

Dixon is on one leg; he should only ruck in the forward pocket: Marshall is back from concussion.I would keep Dixon away from rucking more than a few times a game, same with finlayson. Need both in other areas of the ground and if either get injured (in Dixon case more injured) we lose our structure. Live with Teakle and hope he improves or bring someone else in.
Or we could play no ruck and set Houston up at the bounce on the edge of the defensive square to protect against their rucks belting the ball forward and then go 2 on 2 defensive in the square and tell JHF or Rozee to follow the taps of their Rick and rely on speed![]()
Drew must play for team balance where he is our only defensive mid.Rioli Dixon Lord

Boak to play mostly inside mid. Butters play mix of wing/rov. Finlayson & Lord to chop out in ruck. Burgoyne to rotate through the wings.
Lord or Teakle to be subbed out for Drew before 3/4 time.

Jonas absolutely has to play in the game against Norf.... for reasons that I won't elaborate on here
To knock Zurhaar outI agree.
And if it goes to plan I’ll be cheering him on.

Great to see someone with a bit of footy sense speaking. His comments on Teakle and Lycett:

It's nice to have a coach that speaks English and sounds like he knows WTF is going onHis comments on Teakle and Lycett:

He did have 7 tackles too which I suspect is what the coaches are valuingIt's ok for teakle to not have a kick while losing the hitouts badly, but it's not ok for Sam Hayes to not have a kick while winning hitouts![]()
Finlayson was BOG last time we played Essendon with Draper, and he was ruck.I actually think Teakle is a best choice THIS week. Draper & Phillips would run Hayes into the ground. Maybe even keep Lord in to chop out a little in ruck. And have Butters and Finlayson spend some time on the wings. with SmithsonPut Jonas in the bin
So Dixon said he had a “PCL injury…or issue…” what does that mean? Is it a tear or is it buggered? Does he play on one leg all year or is there eventually a game where he does irreparable damage and is then out for 8 weeks?Dixon is on one leg; he should only ruck in the forward pocket: Marshall is back from concussion.
We are creating a propensity for injuries by risking our thoroughbred forwards Jeremy/Marshall/Charlie as the second ruck.
By all means Jeremy can pinch hit but we need to match the Bombers two ruckmen; I would prefer to bring in a big body like Dante.
I found Carr's comments very interesting; "Lycett needs to build, not quite there yet but that doesn’t rule him out this year.”
