Great win yesterday but next game will be here before we know it given the quick turnaround.

I wonder if Kiddy will get up for next Thursday. If so, I’d consider given Zorko a rest before another big trip to Adelaide the following week.

Depending on how Oscar is going they might bring him back as well due to the quick turnaround for Fort, although he was good yesterday. I go back to Fages’ comments on Friday though in that we are obviously mindful we are light on for talls/rucks atm, so we are doing our best to nurse who we do have available through unscathed.

Hopefully everyone else pulled up ok and can bounce back for Thursday night.

Gallop debut against a depleted Bombers backline would be good. Not sure Fages is one to rest players but we have the depth to play with. Kai looked sore in the last with that ankle.

As much as I prefer Gardiner down back, I think he is improving in the fwds each game. I would like to see him do more in the ruck instead of Hippy.

Is there a chance Andrews gets suspended for his late spoil that collected the head? I think maybe. Joyce I think I read copped a head knock, so he'd be out. So it would be Gardiner going back I'd reckon, opening up a spot fwd. The tall fwd stocks are bare, so we could probably play Big O and Fort or it maybe the opportunity to give Gallop a run. Kicked 3 again in the Vfl and has had a few weeks getting ruck experience. Not saying he shoulders the whole 2nd ruck duties but he would certainly be capable of taking a few more than Dizzy or Morris did. And as we saw on the weekend when the midfield is firing it didn't really matter who took the second ruck.

Normally after such a good week, but with a short break it's worth considering managing a 1 or 2. All depends how they pull up.

Essendon are going to be a weird team to play. They have so many injuries to their tall players this year.

Rucks: They will only pick one of Fort or Oscar so one change or none.

Kiddy: Only obvious out is Dev.
They could manage Levi/Zorko but i doubt anyone puts up their hand to be rested. No one wants to give up their spot.

I would like to see less CBA's for Hippy as he is trying hard but worth more up forward.
That means more from the other fill ins yesterday being, Dunkley, Gardiner and Morris.

I think Gallop has done enough ruck work in the VFL, for his development I'd like to see him get this game to calibrate where he is at and what development he now needs to work on. He wont be up against a monster, top ruckman so a good chance to calibrate his development. I dont think anyone deserves to be dropped, I favour no changes but for the overall squad, no better game to try out the kid. That means most likely Darcy Gardner gets the 1 week rest and is told it's only the 1 week.

If the do, surely anyone who even has the slightest soreness for the Lions can be rested. Essendon would already be up against it, what chance would they have with players who joined the club 24 hours earlier. Reminds of Covid days…
