Cummins and Khawaja in. Dont want Maxwell and Stoinis anywhere near the test team. Also Agar is not a bloody allrounder, he is just a very good number 8.

IF in form and IF we were desperate. Didn't say would just it wouldn't be the worse thing to think outside the box.

He not playing first class cricket...one of the more ridiculous things I've read on here...and that's saying something

Forget what Lyon and O'Keefe have done. The mere mention of Hogg highlights the shallow pool of spinning frontliners in this country. Waste of time naturalising Fawad Ahmed if he isn't going to get a gig. Pretty sure he topped the list of Shield wickets in the recent past.

What is Australia's fascination with selecting all rounders? It is bemusing to watch.
I think it's mainly the worry over the number of injuries our fast bowlers have suffered, as well as a bit of the Flintoff-memory factor.

Open your eyes Dude. Of course they're going to pick Vics when out of form. That way when they fail, they can say "we gave them a chance, but they didn't grasp it". Heaven forbid they give them an opportunity to actually succeed.

Cough Cough....Handscombe

I think injuries have become the convenient excuse they use just so they can blindly chase their own flintoff year after year even though it has simply lead to a poorly balanced weaker side, even when we have a 5th bowling option the skipper still puts the bulk of the workload on the main 4 anyway.

To balance the ledger for the lack of runs provided in recent years by marsh and others at 6 these allrounders would need to cover mid match for an injured bowler for about 10 straight tests.

I agree that the bias thing is silly. But how do you explain the Maddison selection? A Mark Waugh "special"?

Mark Waugh is simply a c***. An absolute blight on the selection of the Australian test team, what used to pass for the most prestigious pinnacle of Australian sport.

Maddinson picked for four tests in a row on the back of zero form while others (e.g. Ferguson) were dumped after one test. Stoinis flown over to India with less red ball form than Johnny Howard throwing down zingers at the troops. Hadn't seen a single Queensland game all season.

Absolute clown of the highest order.

Fawad or Holland please.
I knew SOK would be a 1 trick pony....

Lyon in doubt with a sore finger apparently? **** these injuries. Had to happen on one of our most competitive Indian series didn't it?

How many wickets did our 'spinners'take in the second innings, wouldn't stress too much about replacements being up to it.
Smith needs to bowl .
Cummins is our strike bowler.

Hes not missing a test match with a blister

But it might bother him all series he will just have to deal with it.

There's no way that our frontline spinner will miss one of the most important matches of the decade due to a blister or sore finger.

If he does, he's basically forefeiting his privilege to play for Australia imho.

Irrespective of his failure in the second innings, the team needs him.

seems like a pretty legit reason for a spinner not to play to me.
less grip, less spin, less control.
