thursfield was way better than mcguane today, and tambling was good i thought... seems alot of posters dont care about performance once they have an opinion on a player.

Polak shouldn't get a gig. I don't know how you would keep Morton in after that game
Hardwick has supposedly said that Vickery won't be back until after the split round so you need someone to provide backup for Graham, given Browne has been named starting ruck for the Coburg ressies, its a big jump from there to AFL.

As for Morton he is a best 22 player and played his first game back after a month in the 2's, either he stays or Nahas does for mine and I would rather see what Morton can do in a F50 setup that consists of Jack Aatbury and Griffiths where instead of getting the second best defender he might end up with a 3rd/4th defender.

Outs

White - This guy is not up to it. 7 possesions shows he is a front runner with poor skills...always missing when we need our bottom 5 players in the side to rock up.

Farmer - Really does not look like he is quick enough or tall enough to play down in the backline. Love his long kicking but he doesn't have much else.

Jake King - WTF is this guy doing in the midfield and we actually got him into open space a few times to watch him drill it to the opposition. Love his endevour but skills is not AFL standard.

Nahas - Needs to be dropped once a month to fire up and have a crack again. Gets ahead of himself I think and needs to realise he is not really that good. Lacks polish. Traing for Vezpremi would mean replacing Nahas with a class player

Nason - Give him a rest.

Simmonds - People saying bring Browne in next week you have to be kidding? Cox and Nic Nat would estroy him around the ground....has to be Polak for his mobility!

Thursfield - Just does not offer alot this bloke.

Webberley - His decision making struggled tonight. Could probably keep him in but we can replace with Connors.

INS: Foley, Jackson, Connors, Polak, Griffiths, Gourdis, Moore

PLEASE NOTE

Tambling actually looked like he was getting some fitness back tonight. Can people stop calling for his head and just let him get a few games under his belt and watch him re-capture 09 form.

Same goes for Morton. St Kilda are an ugly team to play against and Morton always destroys West Coast. Got to leave him in for a few games.

Ins: Jackson Foley Griffiths Browne Moore Connors

Out: Simmonds King(had a better game than Nahas, White and Morton, so maybe stay) Nahas White Thursfield Morton (must go back to the 2s)

Lineup:
B: Farmer McGuane Moore
HB: Edwards Deledio Newman
C: Connors Cotchin Jackson
HF: Astbury Griffiths Foley
F: Tambling Riewoldt Nason
R: Graham Tuck Martin
I/C: Browne Collins Cousins Webberley

I cannot believe somebody is suggesting Polak? Oh geez frustrates me! Hes gone. Browne and then if not Vickery!

Farmer did not have a good game. But he'll stay in, Hardwick loves his attitude.

Cotchins game died off pretty quickly.

Nason I hope stays in.

All of these calls for the dropping of tambling and king are absolutely ludicrous. King's courage on several occasions was second to none and did an excellent job limiting dal santo's impact on the game. Of course he had his one or two brain explosions, but he wasn't the only one tonight (ie cotchin and martin both blazing away to noone on several occasions). Also i thought Tambling's game was definitely a step up tonight, remember he is coming off a limited pre season and will take a bit of time to get back to where he was playing last year, he attacked the ball very well, laid numerous tackles while being one of our better ball users.

My Ins and Outs this week would be:
In: Browne, Post, Connors, Foley, Jackson, Griffiths
Out: Simmonds (Retired), Nason (Rest), Nahas (Didn't contest at ground level and limited fwd line pressure), Morton (Didn't look up to it may give him another week to readjust to the pace), Farmer (needs to work harder defensively, Milne cut him to shreds), White (doesn't get enough of the ball)

Why the **** are people saying Tambling out? He was effective tonight, one of our better triers I thought. No way he'll be dropped. May be out injured.

Out - Nahas, King, Nason, Morton, Simmonds
In - Jackson, Connors, Moore, Griffiths, Foley.

Would love to see Gourdis come in but realistically Moore will probably have his number this week. Soon though :thumbsu:

Undecided on Browne however, don't know if Graham should be made to go up against Cox and Naitinui alone. Browne should probably come in but I think 5 changes is enough. If Griff is no good, Browne in.

Nason needs a rest, was a passenger tonight, as was Nahas and, most disappointingly, Morton.

People who want Farmer dropped need to take another look, he does a lot off the ball, works incredibly hard to get to the contest and is in fact a terrific kick.

B - Thursfield, Moore, Farmer
HB - Connors, McGuane, Newman
C - Cotchin, Tuck, Deledio
HF - Martin, Griffiths, Astbury
F - Tambling, Riewoldt, White
Foll - Graham, Jackson, Foley
Inter - Collins, Webberley, Edwards, Cousins

I am sorry anyone that reckons POLAK should come back in I lose all respect for. Give Browne a shot against them. He's better ruckman than Polak. Polak is not mobile, he cant mark and cannot read the play. GONE!

Browne, is all likelihood, is playing Coburg ressies this week that shows how far he is off playing AFL. Polak will suffice for 1-2 weeks until we get to the split round where we can then reassess and bring back Vickery to partner Graham.

Out: McGuane (can not be at our club come years end, brave but is a terrible footballer and I've been saying it for a long time)King, Simmonds, Nahas, White, Morton.

In: Jackson, Conners, Foley, Moore, Browne, Griffiths

I have been a fan of Farmer, he is a lovely long kick, hard at it, does all the 1%, but number 1 he needs to get more of the ball and number 2 he needs to work harder defensively. Milne destroyed him in the 2nd half, he had about 7 shots at goal after he was moved on ot him. I think that a one or two week spell at coburg just to send a bit of message to him wouldn't be a bad thing.

Thought King played well tonight did really well in alot of one on ones by using his body to advantage.

Jackson and Foley will come straight back in, and you would say Conners and Moore will aswell. Possibly Griffiths

Going to be tough to pick a side which for the first time in a long while is a good thing. Play like we did tonight with some better conversion we should get over the eagles.

Mcguane I believe will match up well on Kennedy

And would it kill us to get some crumbers in our forward line and jacks feet, we let the ball out of our 50 so easily it kills me!

Out: Simmonds (Ret), Nason (Rest), White, Nahas/Morton, McGuane
In: Moore, Jackson, Foley, Connors, Vickery/Browne/Polak

That's a huge injection of class. We need to keep one of Morton and Nahas because otherwise we have no small forward, and whether we decide to give Morton a while to get it right after a spell out from the game, or leave Nahas in on the basis of previous form, I don't know. We need a backup ruckman but who it will be really depends on the VFL. I'd like to give Vickery time in the VFL so he can play against smaller bodies and really start to get him involved around the ground, but he may be our best backup at the moment.

Over the years I thought you were a reasonable poster. Lost all respect! Polak will not suffice. He got 6 hit outs against Port last week -Trengrove (rookie player). Why not just use Tuck. I dont care. Not Polak. Hes not going to get the ball, when he gets it hes a spud. He is simply not part of our future. Browne was considered best on last week for the Reserves...not the Reserve 2nds.

:thumbsu: Completely agree with this. Morton hasnt shown much in the twos but we need to give either him or nahas an extended run to try and get a bit of continuity. I remember hearing jack talk about how much they loved working together it would be pointless to break that off after just one week.
A firing morton (would assume he will be up and about against his old club) combined with jack in present form would be exciting

Agree with these changes. King was not that bad. But not a midfielder.

No to POLAK!

Wow have you actually seen Browne play? Good tap ruckman but Cox and Nic Nat would both run circles around him and get 35 touches each.

Lucky I could not care about your respect. Polak is way more mobile than you are suggesting when you compare him to ruckman. Almost want him tagging Cox...round 12 is not the time to bring Browne in v the Eagles...

Pretty much spot on mate! Alot of people on here are asking for mcgaunes, thursfield. It's #ucking rediculois. Way to quick to past judgement on players after one game both of these players have talent and IMO are very good, what good is it droping these guys???

And farmer I thought was good tonight, Milne always kills us.
Tambling was also good, and I thoiught king was ok!!!

If anything it's worrying that cotchin is getting stuck with a tag and is getting no support, from fellow mids. Didn't see one block to give him space all night.

Anyway my point being we need to play with the same group of players to bring comradery and confidence to each player. No point dumping 6 every week because they played poorly.

Outs: Simmo, nahas( very poor no second efforts) Morton(really struggling needs to pull it together cause I love him) king( structually)
in: vickery, foley, Jackson, conners

with conners back I expect lids straight into the midfield to protect cotchin who needs it more than anyone.

Yeah he was named best for the reserves and his reward is named as first ruck for Coburg seconds/extended bench for the seniors. He might be part of our future, but right now he isn't up to playing AFL its as simple as that. As for Polak only having 6 hitouts that might have something to do with Graham having 35 and spending most of the game on the ball. Like I said for the next 2 weeks Polak would provide a reasonable backup for Graham until Vickery comes back in after freshening up.

Best thing anyone has said on this thread .

Do people relise the King was playing on Dal Santo? He has now beaten his every oponent he haws had since his return. Tambling was very good tonight.

There was an article this week about his and Posts performance last week. Well we'll see how they play tomorrow for the reserves. I really have never rated POLAK and never will. He should of been gone long ago. It is quiet sad that we have to call upon him, cause we have no other options. Truely poor list management that. We need to recruit one and draft one ruckman this coming post season.

McGuane as backup ruck next week. He can tag Nicnat. He spends more time forward anyway. Cox does the majority of rucking! How about that? We're he goes McGuane goes!

I am sorry people, what have i missed.

why do people think Gourdis is going to get a game.

HE IS A ROOKIE THEREFORE HE CANNOT PLAY IN THE SENIORS !!!!!!!!!!!

Allowed to promote a rookie after round 11. HE CAN NEXT WEEK! BTW maybe we should even consider bring in both Post and Griff. That is if Post has a game like he did last week again tomorrow. We just need more goal options. 59 years since we had only 2 players kick goals in a game.

Why dont you think he will be elevated this week??
