Geez I'm loving being able to use the ignore function these days.
Probably best to take what he says with a grain of salt since he wouldnt know much half an hour after the game is finished.I think in future that if Simpson is asked about a players injury, that his stock response should be that the player absolutely farked. Because normally, they are.
This is two weeks in a row now with Ryan and Venebles that he has gone:
"Yeah, they should be totally alright. Pretty minor stuff".
Next minute...
"So yeah um......... he is going to miss a while".
Hell, he swore blue in the pre season that Kennedys surgery was just a minor clean up and had no involvement of the knee.
What love to be a fly on the wall as to what information our medical staff are feeding him.

Not looking good
Wait how long is Venables out for?
They might Part ways you think ?Assuming DV is out I agree with the notion that we should go like for like rather than bring in a defender like Cole or a mid like Ainsworth.
It’s tough because EP are coming off a bye and in an ideal world we wouldn’t debut a player coming off a 2 week break. That being said, if we did, I’d want it to be Petch over someone like Ainsworth for the fact that he is a forward.
Failing that, I think we should go Partington. He’s played that HFF with reasonable success at AFL level, and after a 33 possession, 2 goal game for EP I think he deserves a shot. We know he lacks impact for EP but I think given the state EP is in he may benefit from playing in a team that actually functions to an extent.
If Parto doesn’t get selected this week I question if he ever will. It seems like Ainsworth and Ah Chee are ahead of him in the midfield pecking order. This is his chance to get selected as a forward/mid with DV (and Ryan) both unavailable. He’s coming off a fairly good performance. If he’s not picked this week I think it’s a clear sign his development isn’t a priority and that his future at WC is cloudy at best.

Cole's only a defender because we haven't played him as a forward. If we can play Mitch Brown in a forward pocket we can play Cole on a HFF flank.
In all seriousness I'd like to see him tried on the wing or off a forward flank. Has been good sending the ball into the forward 50 when I've seen him higher up the ground in the waflMan I can't even tell when you're serious about Cole. I would actually like to play him up the ground in the future, but it seems he has settled into a spot in the backline for now and we probably won't mess with that for a while. If Sheppard is out then Cole should be the obvious choice to come in this week.
I also just realised Ainsworth was the emergency Vs Geelong so it will have been three weeks without a game, meaning a debut is next to zero chance this week. Therefore:
OUT: Venables, Sheppard
IN: Partington, Cole
He's super goodin Hutchings and Cole
Out Venners and Shep
Shep is sooo important
HutchingsThe problem with swapping Venables with Ainsworth is that they have a completely different skill set.
Ainsworth is really an inside mid, I'd actually prefer to see Cole take the role, he's quicker and his light frame will be less of an issue.
Is he though?![]()
From what it sounds like from WAFL reports its because he has no defensive game and only looks after himself. Stat padding to try and get a recallI tend to agree with the school of thought that if Partington doesn't get selected this week, he should start looking for another club.
We have 2 young half forwards in Ryan and Venebles who are out injured. An easier opponent in Carlton. And Partington has been in good WAFL form playing a similar role. Perfect opportunity.
For whatever reason, Simpson doesn't seem to rate him though
