On the Contrary, he has played well.
With the help of the coaching panel, he has reinvented himself.
Has been a great asset ALL YEAR, busted a gut with hard running and providing a great link as well pushing hard to create a loose man up forward.
Give credit when credit is due. He is absolutely in no danger of getting dropped.

I will give credit where credit is due, its just not here this just his MO.

Masten has busted his ass all season . Have you seen when we switch its always masten and gaff busting a gut to get to the other wing .
Or when the opposition switches its masten redden gaff and duggan busting ass to switch our zone to the other wing .

So much off the ball running done by a lot of unsung heros in our team . Cripps is another that does a huge amount of unrewarded running playing his role .

Get off the masten hate he is playing dam well and getting his 2015 form back is massive for our team

Nah not impressive he is just a soft touch. When we win well he looks good when the going gets tough he disappears always has nothings changed.

What's the point of all this?

I literally said i'm taking everything on face value. The statistics i gave are correct, so why bother taking out certain games to make a point?

And thank you kind sir, it has already been pointed out academy selections had an impact on that picks worth and why it was pushed down. Cheers for taking the opportunity to tell me i'm wrong though. Well done, you're a true hero, can you sign my kids baseball jersey :thumbsupemoji::thumbsupemoji:

You said he was "arguably in the worst form of his career". I assumed that meant it was arguable. And taking a four-game sample, in one of which he was hampered through the entire second half, in order to make that call seemed a little unfair.

And you literally said "correct me if I'm wrong".

True enough but the question remains, where did the concussion come from?

Doubt it was an earlier incident otherwise he wouldn't have gone back on.

We especially need Lecca this week after losing Ryan and Veneables.

The concussion generally comes from the brain bouncing around inside the skull. So because it was such a jolting hit, the sudden change in momentum of his head (sometimes referred to as a whiplash movement) may have been enough to cause concussion even without any head contact. The heavy hit he took in the first quarter would have certainly contributed to it as well, so the second hit just compounded the existing brain trauma.

Did you see the saints bloke fall over behind play with no one around? Concussion can come from anywhere even the slightest knock but I think Le Cras should be fine as you can still give one legally within the rules, he didn't look to do anything outside the rules to my mind.

Haggers saying one week for Lecca so he is either let off or rubbed out for a month.

If there is vision of Lecca catching him high he goes. If there is no evidence that Lecca got him high it shouldn't even get looked at.

I am worried there is a damning reverse angle being held to gazump us with.

just read that myself. who was the richmond player it happened to a few years ago probably a better example of what i meant. thanks for the clarification.

Ty Vickery, randomly went for a mark 100 meters away from the ball then collapsed.

All they will look at is Lecca bumping him and the Doctors report saying he was concussed.

It's a week every day of the week I would've thought.

Would sets a weird precedent, if you go to bump someone legally and they fall and hit their head then you are liable.
So what then, we outlaw the bump? Lecca performed a legal bump and the dude got hurt, thats a contact sport for ya.
Note that there wasn't a free kick paid against him at the time so the umpires thought it was all fair and legal.

Well its probably lucky that this playing future is in the hands of people that know what they are doing and not some uninformed armchair critic.
Masten's role this season appears to be the flipside of Gaff.
They compliment each other, one a left footer, one a right footer, hard running, presenting across half back, distance covered and presenting as a loose man in attack. Together they have created a two pronged weapon going inside 50.
Again I say credit where credit is due to both the player and the new look coaching staff.

Simmo has said that he has given Masto a simple and well defined role. Narrowing the scope for some players, focusing on their strengths and minimising their limitations means we are get getting the best we can out of him. Hope it continues.

Trent Cotchin got let off with his preliminary final bump even though he got his got opponent high, medical report stated his opponent had concussion, and he had prior strikes at tribunal.

I know the AFL love to doctor their tribunal results where a grand final is involved, but this sets a precedent. A fine should suffice for Le Cras

Touche, i did indeed say that. Although i don't think it warrants much debate TBH, his form at West Coast is without a doubt, the worst of his career apart from his first couple of seasons at Brisbane... Do you disagree?

There's also a few more club stats you left out which might paint more of a picture :moustache:

+2nd at the club for Clangers. Yeo is leading mind you, although i think the way Yeo is a match winner, some slack can be cut.

+ Averaging/totaled less contested possessions than Gaff. Damning considering he's an inside midfielder and work horse apparently.

+ The only midfielder on the team without a Goal Assist all year. In fact he's the only PLAYER in the team without a Goal Assist, apart from McGovern, Hurn, Barrass, Nelson and Schofield, who are all defenders. Hutchings, who played 1 game, also hasn't had one yet.

+ Ranked 17th at the club for Metres gained (200m) granted his inside role isn't very friendly for this stat. And yet Sheed, Yeo, Gaff and Shuey, who all get more contested ball, have more than DOUBLE the average metres gained per game than he does.

+ Statistically champion data has him as our 5th worst player for the season, going by their rankings points. Only Venables, Rioli, Schofield and Nelson have averaged less.

+ Ranked 23rd at the club for disposal effiency. Only Rioli and Ryan have used the ball worse than Redden.

I do realize he had a knock to his leg in the 3rd quarter and was hampered by it in the 4th. But these are current season stats, not one game.

Be interesting to see where Ah Chee's fitness is at, and whether he is any chance this week. If venables misses a couple he is probably the perfect replacement.

Ideally just the one change:

Ins: Hutchings/Ah Chee
Outs: Venables

I'd still love to see cole get a crack (rate him over nelson), but nelson is playing his role at the moment and doesn't yet deserve to lose his place.

Has been told to put on weight which he has.....so no one is pushing Masto around anymore .......inside running bull .
Except the various times he squibbed against Sydney.

No Venables (ankle) at @WestCoastEagles training. Kennedy, Nic Nat, Redden, Sheppard and Gaff taking it easy as Eagles train on MCG-sized oval at Lathlain. Expect Ah Chee, Oscar Allen and Vardy in mix for East Perth return.
Has EP still got the restriction on the number of Eagles players that can play in the league side?
