People are very aggro in this thread given we won so easily this week....
Yes.
Its interesting to note that a lot of the criticism that is being leveled at Masten is very similar to that leveled at Gaff over the years.
Both players are role players and vital to the game plan and how we structure up.
Strange that some have to find fault before there is fault and cant be happy that we are exceeding expectations.

West Coast are playing exciting and highly attractive offensive footy. The Eagles have crashed to second spot with three straight

Hackdorn.

How the hell do you crash to second? Explain to me this the world. im finding it rather hard to compute this dribble.

West Coast could unveil another first-year draftee to replace injured forward Dan Venables for Saturday’s clash with Carlton in Melbourne.

Hard nut defender Brad Sheppard is also a doubtful starter with a nagging thigh strain.

Sheppard, 27, has hobbled through his past two outings nursing a hefty cork low in his right thigh.

A conservative recovery approach is likely with Sheppard to prepare the important and courageous defender for an emotional first-ever Western Derby at Perth’s plush new stadium on Sunday-week.

Tough utility Brayden Ainsworth or speedy winger Jack Petruccelle are short-list candidates to make senior debuts on the hallowed MCG turf against a battling bottom-of-the-ladder Blues.

"Ainsworth played some impressive senior footy at powerful WAFL unit Subiaco before he was plucked by the Eagles with their fourth pick in last year’s national draft and 32 overall..."

Nope, only played ressies. Geez Louise.

Maybe he means senior as in men’s?

More likely he has made a mistake though.

Lecca is cleared
Interesting reading from the Official MRP Statement

Contact between West Coast’s Mark LeCras and the Gold Coast Suns’ Ben Ainsworth from the third quarter of Saturday’s match was assessed. The ball was spoiled from a marking contest and then gathered loose by Ainsworth. As Ainsworth took possession of the ball, he was confronted by LeCras who bumped him. Contact was made between LeCras’ shoulder and Ainsworth’s chest with contact also occurring with an accidental clash of heads. It was the view of the Match Review Officer that LeCras’ conduct was not unreasonable in the circumstances and no further action was taken.

Shep would be a big loss this week- he’s been super for us this year. But if he needs a week, it’s probably better than him playing restricted. We need him at his best. Cole coming in would mean we wouldn’t lose any pace at least.

Would love to see Petrucelle come up to replace DV as I think it would be more a like for like replacement. Even if Ainswerth is in better form.

Hopefully Shuey gets up.

Think Cole should come in for Shep. Schofield could be ok if they play three tall forwards.

Hutch should come in for Venables.

If Shuey and Venables are out you'd think Ainsworth has to get the gig.

If we have a really bad week with injuries you'd think that Parto would then be next in.

Actually played Senior footy at Esperance at 16 Years of age.

I like the long term prospect of Petrucelle but he is not close to AFL starting. For those calling fro his inclusion this week, here is Jack's WAFL form so far:

Hardly calling out pick me.

I watched Petrucelle when we played them at Domain and on TV and he is fast but was found out of position a number of times last year. He has great speed and good endurance but his strategic side of the game is where he needs the most help.

With DV out, I would like us to bring in Partington who will play a similar role. His WAFL form has been pretty good so far in 2018.

It was orignally an article suggesting he is one of the candidates to come in. Unsure if they have any mail or just guessing.

He's cut down the extra weight to be able to run the game out! He hasn't run the coaches dog over like Parto!

Yeah a long way off for me.

I would go with these players:

Partington - Played HHF last year and wasn't to bad when he played. Can rotate into midfield if needed.
Karpany - Ditto as Partington.
Ainsworth - More of a wing/mid than a HHF.

Based on the byline of the article, I'd say they're just guessing ;)
