West Coast could unveil another first-year draftee to replace injured forward Dan Venables for Saturday’s clash with Carlton in Melbourne.
Hard nut defender Brad Sheppard is also a doubtful starter with a nagging thigh strain.
Sheppard, 27, has hobbled through his past two outings nursing a hefty cork low in his right thigh.
A conservative recovery approach is likely with Sheppard to prepare the important and courageous defender for an emotional first-ever Western Derby at Perth’s plush new stadium on Sunday-week.
Tough utility Brayden Ainsworth or speedy winger Jack Petruccelle are short-list candidates to make senior debuts on the hallowed MCG turf against a battling bottom-of-the-ladder Blues.
"Ainsworth played some impressive senior footy at powerful WAFL unit Subiaco before he was plucked by the Eagles with their fourth pick in last year’s national draft and 32 overall..."
Nope, only played ressies. Geez Louise.
Interesting reading from the Official MRP StatementLecca is cleared
http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-04-16/match-review-weekend-matches-round-fourContact between West Coast’s Mark LeCras and the Gold Coast Suns’ Ben Ainsworth from the third quarter of Saturday’s match was assessed. The ball was spoiled from a marking contest and then gathered loose by Ainsworth. As Ainsworth took possession of the ball, he was confronted by LeCras who bumped him. Contact was made between LeCras’ shoulder and Ainsworth’s chest with contact also occurring with an accidental clash of heads. It was the view of the Match Review Officer that LeCras’ conduct was not unreasonable in the circumstances and no further action was taken.

Will Ainsworth be fine playing after no gametime over the last few weeks?
stats!!!we go with simmo's sixth senseI like the long term prospect of Petrucelle but he is not close to AFL starting. For those calling fro his inclusion this week, here is Jack's WAFL form so far:

Hardly calling out pick me.
I watched Petrucelle when we played them at Domain and on TV and he is fast but was found out of position a number of times last year. He has great speed and good endurance but his strategic side of the game is where he needs the most help.
With DV out, I would like us to bring in Partington who will play a similar role. His WAFL form has been pretty good so far in 2018.
It was orignally an article suggesting he is one of the candidates to come in. Unsure if they have any mail or just guessing.I like the long term prospect of Petrucelle but he is not close to AFL starting. For those calling fro his inclusion this week, here is Jack's WAFL form so far:
