Saw the Burgers game...and unless Cotchy comes up, there is nothing there in the Burgers that deserves to come up immediately. .

From the game day thread it appeared Raines did alright. Enough to warrant a re-call?

Simmons also 3 goals, 30 touches and a number of effective hit-outs. Any chance he will come back in for Patto.

My possible changes:

In: Cousins, Simmons, Raines
Out: Collins/Polo, Patto (or Richo), JON

Give Simmonds another week to see if he can back it up. Has been too sh1t this year to come straight back up. He's a better player than Pattison but I think he needs just one more game in the resessies to really get him up and going.

Brown I don't want coming straight back in even though he'll be out another week or 2 injured.

Schultz has to put 3 REALLY strong games together at VFL to even be considered at the selection table in my view.

Leave the team as it is.
If Richo's injured then recall Schultz for the week. I'd rather Simmonds in but I think it will be good for his season to stay down another week.

We are playing at the scg. We don't need a chf. Play reiwoldt at ff and don't bother with Schultz

I agree. Without doing a review of the North game, we don't necessarily need to go tall with a replacement to Richo. Leave the back untouched. Replace with either Cuz (if fit) or Brown (if fit). Browne (if possible, tho haven't seen form, so may not be appropriate)

Saw the Burgers game...and unless Cotchy comes up, there is nothing there in the Burgers that deserves to come up immediately. Certainly not Schulz. Give Vickery more time in a league he can currently cope with, he's getting used to get the ball, imposing himself and understand the game quicker than others.

No need to drop anyone...give em all another crack. They deserve it.
Though we didn't beat a team at their best.
And did notice Polo lost at times, but others brought him into it.

To all those in the 'Richo should play for the next thousand year' camp.
Notice how we won without Brown, Simmo and less influence from Richo.
See! The RFC will survive AFTER Richo.
Get used to it.

So delibrate what if Richo isnt fit against the swans, do we play him anyway ? If Cousins is ready to go would you play him in Coburg for a week ? The club still has a couple of decisions to make this week.

My personal view is if Richo isnt right then bring in either Hughes or Vickery, not Schulz. If Cousins is fit then just play him and I'd drop Polo.

I thought that our forward line stepped up, when Richo was off the ground, from what i've heard is that Richo is a big chance to miss the clash with the swans, so i would say:

INS: Cousins or Schulz
OUT: Richo

I would like to see Cousins in the midfield just so we can see the future of the Richmond Football Clubs forward line, otherwise Schulz would come in to fill the void. Tyrone Vickery from all reports performed well for Coburg but would be a slim chance to replace richo.

Personally i dont think Schulz has done enough at VFL Level to come into a Young and Improving Richmond Team, and apparantly Cotchin could be in against Brisbane in Round 7.

But i think, other than Richo (who would be rested), everyone else deserves to play next week.

Great Performance By The Boys, and i think a lot of Die Hard Richmond supporters , would be loving Coughlan back in the side. His heart is definitely Yellow and Black

Agree with you. Im still tossing up between Cousins and Sarge myself.
Richo needs a rest, he would barely run when he came on. A interstate trip wouldn't help his cause either.

You cant do in's and out's at this stage...
You need to take into account:
- the SCG (small ground)
- Sydney's contested style (need bigger bodies, hard at the ball)
- The likely team Sydney will field (matchups etc.)
- Travel (which players play well away from home)

After Wallace has reviewed the North game and the above he can then decide on the in's and out's..

Out: Richo
In: Someone

We played better when Richo was off
He needs a break
Question is, who?
Keep everyone else as it is though.

Likely

In:Simmonds, Cousins
Out:Pattison (ommited), Richardson (glute strain),

Cotchin to be given another week at VFL.

Pattison not up to scratch, form warrant Simmo to return - although I like him out of the side.

Won't risk richo, Cousins to come in.

JON should be given another chance.

The positive is our Backs are settled...and we still have Thursfield to works his way back in thge side aswell.

Polo was fine. No change. Why would Richo not play when he came back on the ground? :o
Because the only reason he came back on the ground was to stay in the forward fifty so a north player would man up on him so the centre corridor could stay open.

Totally agree hope N.Brown is not straight back into the side whenever he is available and also agree with Simmonds one good game in the VFL thats his only good game for the year , needs to do it again this week in the VFL.
Think Cousins will play.

Anyone who wants to drop Bowden or McMohan for next week knows SFA. Both were excellent last night. I'm not a huge McMohan fan but if you took out his first quater last night he played one of his best games for the club. And Bowden was also outstanding last night. His two goals were majestic

We should go for a big foward line against Swans look what happened last night they got out played in the midfield and booted to the big guys.

Give cousins and cotchin a/another week at Coburg before rushing them back into the starting 22.

:)You know how it goes, there will be little, if any, praise of McMahon on here, but the majority of posters will just sit back and wait for him to put in a poor performance in a few weeks time before it becomes open season on him again.
Tendency on here to overlook some players good work!!!
While others get plaudits week in and week out for very little!!!

Where is the love for Raines? We need mature players against the Swans. Cuz will play for Coburg next week. Schultz deserves another go. JON and Collins played well, but 1 of them has to miss this week. I reckon:
In: Schultz, Raines
Out: Richo, JON (or Collins)

Yeah I agree, Simmonds and Cousins in, Richo and Patto out.

I love Patto but he'll get another chance soon enough - We need a strong ruckman against Jolly and hopefully Simmonds got the reality check he needed and will bounce back.

Whats wrong with Gus? He was unreal against H-Mac

No change, I reckon. May not be the best move to win, but after the month we've had I reckon that would be the best message to send.

If Richo doesn't come up, consider replacing him with someone who isn't a KPP.... Cousins

You guys played well on the wekeend, and barring injuries I htink you should reward the 22 from Saturday night by giving them all another game.

I jost hope you resist the temptation to bring Cuz straight back. Give him one or two weeks at Coburg and gradually get him back to match fitness.
