I know we were happy with their effort in Church town but there are going to be at least 2 changes this week.
King for Chambers - no brainer. Thanks for the effort Sarge but....
Johnson for Johnson - not a like for like swap but Callan can fill David's shoes and Steve is going to be the type of player that we will play when available

but is there one more...

Watching Bulldogs on TV , I was very impressed with Minson. I think we need Mooney back, the man is wild but he gives us that edge. ALets face it, if Minson starts throwing his weight around, Id like sombody capable of resprecating on our side. to balance this the Bullie have a group of on ballers which are very tasty, Id would nt want to lose any run so...

Has to be Rooke for Mooney . Have to say Rooke would have to be as stiff as a fourteen year old watching Debbie does Dallas, he really has done little wrong but who else can go?

Tenace needs a stint in the VFL.

We can't afford to carry players who aren't performing for too long. I love what he brings to the side when he's hot, but there comes a time when players underperforming in the senior side need to be dropped, and players performing well in the VFL be rewarded (see Thurley, although as things stand at the moment, we have more regulars coming in before the performing VFL players)

I'd expect King, Mooney, and Johnson would come in, and Chambers would be the only definite demotion. If DJ pulls up well, Callan may be dropped back again.

Obviously King for Chambers is a no-brainer
for mine tenace should definitely be sent to the reserves... second year blues if i ever saw them. In his place i'd give Cameron Thurley a run.. i haven't seen today's VFL effort but from all reports Thurley has been our best player in the VFL by a mile and deserves a run to see if he has what it takes.
Callan to make way for S. Johnson providing David Johnson is fit to play.
I'm a big rap for Will Minson, he has the aggression and the agility to be a more than handy player imo, so Mooney should be brought back in to keep him in check. Moons gives us great flexibility around the ground and is a vital ingredient.. Jarad Rooke would be stiff to miss..

Thurley is possibly going to be a little stiff, if no-one else was being promoted this week, I'd give him a go for Tenace, but with Mooney, King and Johnson back, Thurley would be one change too many to a winning side.

In: King, Mooney, S Johnson
Out: Chambers, D Johnson, Tenace

Callan deserves a spot over Tenace.
Kane hasn't gotten near it since Round 1, and the odd time he touches it he is fumbling.
Send him back and give him a full game to get his confidence back.

I think that's the big problem for Thurley.

His form in the two's probably warrants a spot in the seniors, but with the amount of senior players coming in, it's almost impossible to find a spot for him. Must be wondering what he needs to do to get a gig.

Tenace need to get some form he was lucky to be there last week. A run in the 2s would do him some good. If Johnson comes good Callan or Burns not hat they did too much wrong but some one has to make room

Have to say , I understand the logical of Tenace getting the A but my gut say's no.The Bulldogs are a quick team and we will need his speed, and hopefully after having a couple of quiet weeks he may come good with the type of football he was playing pre season. His kicking has been off, he has the look of a player still stugling to adapt to the pace and pressure of play, he needs more time at the this level.Persistance is its own reward

I disagree.

We can't afford to carry any passengers, especially with the constant number of players pushing for senior spots. I could have argued we should have persisted with Mackie, but when these players are lacking confidence, it's only best to give them a full run the seconds.

The fact that we are on cue for 3 senior players to return to the side on top of any other VFL players pushing for selection only makes it harder to justify any passenger carrying.

Byrnes can not go out as he is critical to midfield rotations, and adds spark around the packs in the forward line. When Ablett or Chapman run through the middle he can crumb in the forward line, or his run canbe used on the wing at the end of the quarters.

IN: King, Mooney, S.Johnson
OUT: Tenace, Chambers, Callan (providing DJ is fit) also very stiff, but his time will come when Sando calls it a day, or heaven forbid Dasher or Rooke get injured.

Great to have the depth that we have. Expect more selection table dilemas when Sando comes back in 2 - 3.

The big question is will Bomber select Mooney? He has played less than a qtr. of VFL. He is seriously short of match practice and fitness the reason why Bomber wanted him to start in the VFL. Also the fact of his undiscipline, i don't think Bomber will want to give him an easy leg up to the Senior side. I think for all these reasons Moon's will play VFL this week.

Providing King and SJ are fit they would be the only inclusions.
Chambers definately out. The other would be a toss up. DJ if fit would be unlucky as has been pretty servicable. Will probably come down to between Callan or Tenace. Callan was o.k. on Friday night while Tenace after a reasonable first 3 weeks has been down the last 2 and may benefit with a full game in the magoos.
Think it wiil probably come down to match ups. Tenace might keep his spot as we may be short of a midfielder if he is dropped.

Turbocat, Rooke will keep his spot, has been pretty sevicable all year. Has the versatility to play reasonably tall.

No way would Rooke be dropped! His versatility has been excellent this year, as have his sure hands (finally).
Tenace is badly out of sorts, everyone can see and on a team this deep, definately no passengers.
Bring Moons straight back in and make him run around at CHF to teach him his lesson.

I think Mooney deserves atleast a 3 week serve playing with the kittens. Such poor discipline should not be tolerated and a message must be sent. Hopefully he won't be able to move freely for those 3 weeks because Thompson planted his boot so hard up his a** for his pitiful behaviour.

In King, SJ Out Sarge, D Johnson (inj) or Tenace if DJ is ok

DJ will play.
doubt it - moons to come back in for him. my changes would be the same as ricketts'. can not believe that people are calling for rooke to be dropped - don't want to bag my fellow supporters but do these people have any idea??

In Mooney, SJ,King all have had leg related issues. All Im saying is my preference is speed and with Tenace out and we do lose speed. After a rough start Rooke has played well but for mine he is in the third tall position, where is Mooney going to play? You may well find as Jacky P has said that he will get another run in the V's but if he comes in as a backman then Rooke has to be the one replaced.A fit Mooney as per last year would provide enough run to drop a mid for him but not as he would be now.Another option would be that we intend to play him forward in which case Gardnier would be under the pump.

Yes Jub, I found out this arvo. You were spot on with your prediction about not risking him, though. He thought he may get up due to the 9 day turnaround, but has just failed.
