The one being exposed on the wings are Mayne and Phillips for their lack of pace, Phillips in particular has been worked out by oposition clubs and is being exploited for his lack of pace disposal

Darcy Moore has failed to finish a game on 3 separate occasions this season. I hope he stays and fulfills his potential here but for now there is no way we should trust his hamstrings

EDIT: can probably add the late withdrawal against North to that list

In Round 2 he went off injured at the 20 minute of the 2nd quarter (then was out for 4 weeks). He came back in Round 7 and played just under two and a half quarters. In Round 8 he went off injured at the 12 minute mark of the first quarter. He then missed 8 weeks through injury. He came back in Round 17 and played 85% game time. In Round 18 he was a late withdrawal against NM. Against Sydney he was injured in the early minutes of the 2nd quarter.

We cannot afford to play him him the finals.

Be better then Both Oxley and Madgen

Howe will come in for Oxley and he can't play full back like Magden so it's a moot point.

Madgen appears to have the tools but has been asked to do far, FAR too much as a rookie. He can hold his head high and will be the better player for the experience and the support of older and more experienced heads around him.

Probably wasn’t the right match up really, and because we seem to play Pendles on Fyfe abit there probably wasnt any decent match up for him against freo.

I’d back him in against say Cotchin, Mitchell or Yeo.

Looks like eagles win already.

Win we go to Prelim.

Looking at what we have done all year as a club.
Essentially like for like.
No multiple changes unless injuries.

With that in mind I see us v West Coast with minimal change.

So approaching in that way we probably make only a change or two.

With defensive options returning if Greenwood remains in the side it must only be as a midfield tagger.

If Varcoe plays it must be across half forward.

Please no Greenwood or Varcoe in defence as they're really not all that good in these roles.

i think our attack has suffered a lot with our current backline - very few intercept marks and they lack confidence to counter- attack from switching play or kicking inside.

For me oxley isnt up to finals, and murph will be a star but isnt ready
Madge isnt really ready yet either, but might be able to hold the lock down full back role where he just has to use strength more than skill, and allow the interceptors come over the top.

so i think we should go tall with goldy and howe then we can take quite a few intercept marks. i also like the versatility that goldy offers, because he can play small and tall, and that would give me more confidence to play moore if we were thinking of rolling the dice

He is simply a player that will cost you (turnovers, inability to play one on one or getting caught falling over).
He’s done his part but you don’t take a player like that into a final series.

So leaving Langdon out?! He more than anyone will benefit from bringing in Howe and others. He will not be omitted IMHO.
