I don’t think it’s arrogance, it’s playing to our strengths. As you said we don’t have the quality of smalls to match them, but we do have quality talls that could stretch them, so play to our strengths not theirs.
My point was we won't have the quality of the smalls to compete with them on the day if we go in too tall.

If however we brought in smaller, classier players like Ahern, Hrovat, etc, then...

AHERN I think will play but I figured it was going to be 9 or 10. Him not playing vfl and last week up there I think are signs he's in

These are the two options, match the small size of Richmond or play to our strengths and let our style be what they have to worry about.

To my mind we have talls that can play pretty small like thommo, Daw, wood, Waite - all have good tanks and can play on smaller players and be agile on a smaller ground like Etihad.

If Daw is floating across the back and we have Ahern, Clarke, Williams, Luke, Wright etc rotating down back and through the middle we won't be huge.

Likewise with Jy, Turner, Jz and Wood / Waite rotating up to the wing we will stretch their backs

FWIW I'd like to see Ahern debut.

Basically. We need to be at 100% to have a chance and I'd like to see us back in our style and strengths to forces Richmond to have to stop us

Tough but possible

In my experience you don't pick blokes in a team if they aren't going to play.

Ahern is in I reckon.

I don't think we need daw with Richmond's forward line

What has Simpkin done wrong?

I’m on their board talking to some sensible tigs fans but others are ruddy cocky it’s quiet embarrassing to have to deal with that shit. Don’t think we will win but if we do somehow their excuses will come rolling in big time

In all fairness even to my cocky fellow supporters, we dont usually look for excuses after a loss, we generally go into meltdown mode and start potting our players and coach. :)

Here's to a cracker of a game on sunday, genuinely looking fwd to this one, North have had our measure for such a long time and at Etihad makes me uneasy. Should be a fiery one

just hope the players haven't drank own bath water from last weekend's game and are ready for a fight Sunday.

Can't see them not taking the top of the ladder team seriously.

P.S. Tiges well beatable.
