I understand the sentiment in playing the kids - however, I would also suggest that putting the kids on the field in this kind of toxic environment could actually be at the detriment of their long term development. The coach doesn't give two shits about what happens to the team from 2026 onwards, he's trying to win now. And you've got a team who for better or worse is capitulating. It's blowing up in front of our eyes, and the only thing that can really stop the bleeding (outside of a miraculous turn around under Ken) is to move on to Carr immediately.

I don't want to play the kids under Ken if it's going to potentially put the timeline even further back under Carr.
is Hinkley trying to win now? the rate at which we've fallen apart since the succession plan was announced suggests that he is actually trying to destroy the joint on the way out?

Have the Hawks chilled on the cheesy celebrations from last year? If so, good on them.

They will probably kill us and it will be interesting if they do a couple of aeroplanes or if they have their eye on the prize.

Think I heard in the pre season that Ginnivan got a special goal celebration just for gathering round. I’m looking forward to it.

Given his usual negative attitude I assume he is more worried about looking bad next year than winning this year.

It wouldn't surprise me if his main concern is for things to turn to shit, so Carr takes over a toxic mess and then the hinkley loving morons in the media and some of our fan base can take pot shots of Carr from day one and start talking shit about the grass not being greener and that Hinkley wasn't that bad after all. I feel like we can all see this happening from a mile away.

I feel like a lot of fans have already turned on Carr, and it's actually really pissed me off.

I agree, you cannot write Carr off until he is in the chair and has the opportunity to determine his own pathway. I just fear that the club hierarchy will compromise his position based on their current core values.

you know what we will probably come out and win this game, as a short term sugar hit response. It won't mean shit though, even if we start playing better footy we are going to be pushing shit uphill all year.

It should've been a 3 and 1 opening month, the fact we've turned into 1 and 3 with tougher games to follow means we are not going to make finals so what is the point.

this is like the kid that got one up on the school bully, in front of the whole school, by some freak technicality/act of God, the kid's absolutely dreading the next encounter, whereas the bully is foaming at the mouth and can't wait to put him in his place and prove what a once off it was

Did DBJ get games, that hit was just about the only thing he did yesterday.
nothing heard yet

but on yesterday's performance against the saints (1 kick 6 handballs = 33meters gained) he should be dropped too the SANFL for a very long time

and we should be bringing in Cochrane

I'm thinking Berry needs a run in the two's, he probably shouldn't have played this week. He needs to go back to the SANFL and get some confidence up.

Cochrane needs a full game in the AFL, he is at the opposite end of the spectrum, he seems choc full of confidence.

Was probably always going to get dropped when we had a few players coming back, but it was harsh because he barely had any game time and the ball barely entered our forward line when he was on but he still was able to take a strong mark and nearly nailed what would've been a good goal. But to his credit he went back to the SANFL and kicked 4, so what is that about 11 or 12 goals from 3 SANFL games (including 2 trials).
