It’s not that he’s been that good, it’s because there is much worse still getting a game (Mead).

BY THE BYE - MID SEASON THOUGHTS

I'm not going to go into the whole coaching is useless, the players are uslesess, just take a look at what is going on.

MIDFIELD

Butters - started injured, awesome when free, still needs to work out of a tag. INCREDIBLE WHEN FREE. HELP NEEDED TO BREAK TAG.
Horne-Francis - just good but we are looking for spectacular. Possibly injured. Could be ready to fire in the second half of the season. HOPEFULLY READY TO POUNCE.
Wines - great stats with low impact. UNINSPIRING. NEEDS TO LIFT.
Drew - bad stats with low impact. UNINSPIRING. NEEDS TO LIFT.
Bergman - a couple of games in the guts. Looks OK. Has the potential to really add to the midfield when he starts firing. INTERESTING. NEEDS TO IMPROVE KICK.
Jackson - first gamer. WAIT AND SEE APPROACH.

Burgoyne - good but I want more. TAKE THE BULL BY THE HORNS.
Moreas - started well but needs confidence. SAME AS BURGOYNE.
Lorenz - would like to see more. SAME AS MOREAS.

DEFENCE

Rozee - spectacular in the Houston quarterback role and helped the structure of the backline, no end. AA.
Aliir - good to very good. Great team defender, average one on one defender. VETERAN PRESENCE.
Ratugolea - thought he started to look good. Early days but promising. IMPROVING.
Jones - I thought he was looking really good as well until he got injured. IMPROVING.
Farrell - didn't have the skills to be the number one quarterback so he's a 2nd quarterback guy. WE NOW KNOW WHAT HE IS.
Sinn - starting to look promising. Clamped down hard on small forwards. Yet to see his full potential. Another injury. IMPROVING.
Evans - terrible early but starting to find himself. STILL YOUNG.
Zerk-Thatcher - one game in. WAIT AND SEE.

FORWARD

Georgiades - very good but could be spectacular and leading the Coleman. VERY GOOD BUT FRUSTRATING.
Rioli - still good. CHILL WILLIE. ONLY REAL GOAL KICKING SMALL FORWARD.
Powell-Pepper - back to good form. Chaos in a nutshell. BACK TO HIS FORM.
Richards - hard worker, sets up a lot of goals. WE KNOW WHAT WE HAVE.
Byrne-Jones - finisher and very good kick but not much else. DOING HIS THING.
Berry - hasn't quite worked out he's an AFL footballer yet. GIVE HIM TIME.
Cochrane - a bit exciting but not as exciting as his brother. INJURIES SUCK.
Finlayson - really grinding my gears this year. UP AND DOWN. DON'T LIKE.
Lord - I am moving to not believing in him. HAD A GOOD CHANCE AND NEEDS TO WORK HARDER FOR LONGER.
Mead - late rotation to backup. WE KNOW WHAT WE HAVE.
Lukosius - we don't know what we've got yet. Exciting to see what he can do and help the side. ITCHING TO SEE HIM PLAY.

RUCK

Visentini - not bad for a young guy. IMPROVING. KEEP HIM IN THE SIDE.
Sweet - fallen off a cliff. Hopefully he can strategise his game. GOOD BACKUP.
Soldo - not looking good. THE OTHERS HAVE GONE PAST HIM.

POTENTIAL

Barrett - needs more time. NEEDS TO KICK GOALS AS SMALL FORWARD.
Lai - love the potential. VERY INTERESTED TO SEE WHAT HE CAN DO.
Whitlock - hopefully starts to come on in a big way. A BIG FORWARD IS EXCITING.

STRUGGLING

Anastasopoulos - struggling to get a game over the new guys.
Charleson - struggling to get a game over the new guys.
McEntee - probably won't reach 50 games.
Moss - dunno.
Walsh - dunno.
Williams - struggling to get a game.

SERIOUS QUESTIONS

Atkins - not a part of future plans unless he's becoming a coach.
Boak - too old a few years ago.
Burton - might struggle moving forward. Possibly backup.
Marshall - all kinds of injured. The concussion is not going away. On a huge contract.

Atkins is out because Fox Footy were predicting a playing/coaching role for him at Port next year. Only room for one coach on Planet Ken.

To someone who watches a lot of Port game but not all of them, can you guys explain why Logan Evans is getting dropped so regularly this season?

Observationally, every time I've seen him play he has been great and I figured with him being so young he would have a pretty free run at it this season.
