Do you think the club will drop Boak for Lorenz?... unlikely (history says).

Boak needs a few more games to break some more games records and he actually contributed a bit at the weekend. It's clear he spends some time encouraging the young ones out there.

Noted that boak was the first guy to get to Jackson when he kicked his first AFL goal.

Why do people want to play two rucks? It does not work. Port tried that twice and it failed. Third time's NOT the charm. If Finlayson gets dropped, either Lord or Whitlock will play.

Visentini getting four touches, one goal, two marks, three tackles and eleven hit outs is very good as second ruck.

Burton was decent against the Giants, not sure he's getting dropped. If you're thinking further forward, then it makes sense, but I think we're still trying to salvage the season.

I doubt we go in with Moraes and Lorenz in with Liddy as the sub - that's a lot of inexperience coming in one go. Again, they're still trying to salvage the season.

More realistically, I think we may see
Sweet in for Dante
Lorenz in for Mead, and likely the sub
Possibly Fin for Lord, but I suspect we will keep Fin this week

If JHF is ready, I don't see Lorenz coming in, and we may see Jackson as the sub.

As long as you have Mead, Finlayson and Burton in a side, you have 3 plodders too many that you can't afford on the ground. Burton okay recently, but nowhere near his potential still

I think Burton is starting to come good. He showed dash and seemed more comfortable bending for the ground ball, which is something he has struggled with the past 18 months. At his best he is a very damaging player

As I said, Burton has been decent lately. I agree, he's nowhere near his potential, and sadly I don't think we will ever see him reach his potential. His body just won't let him, and he clearly has it in the back of his mind.
Either way, he's still contributing solidly at the moment and deserves to hold his place. (and now that i've said that, he will 100% stink it up this week)

Finlayson has been super average, but he's the best 2nd ruck/forward we have. Sadly Dante, Sweet and Maric have all been extremely poor in that role, and it allows the opposition defender to run amuck. Fin is in by virtue of being the only one in the team capable. The alternative is playing Esava or Wines in the ruck more and playing Lord. I don't want to see us play 2 genuine rucks though, this is a recipe for disaster. The thing with Fin is that despite his poor form, it feels like he's very slowly building. If he can start converting the chances he gets, he can contribute. He's getting enough chances.

Mead has been poor for a number of weeks, and whilst I think at his best, he can play a role for us, his time has come for a stint in the SANFL.

Seems that we've got a little better at controlling the spread of viruses at the club.

Not sure if it was due to having a gutful of the covid restrictions and relaxing too much but i think it was 2023 where basically the season came crashing down after the 13 in a row partly because every man and his dog at the club were sick.
