Why do people want to play two rucks? It does not work. Port tried that twice and it failed. Third time's NOT the charm. If Finlayson gets dropped, either Lord or Whitlock will play.

My point was more towards Port rather playing another tall forward than playing two rucks.

Because of a guy called Max Gawn. Best ruck in the comp by a long long way. Dante or Sweet alone will be slaughtered.
Going back to when we last beat Melbourne at AO.
Who played on Gawn that night as I’m sure they finished on top of him.
Was it Sweet? I’m not sure.

Won’t matter the umps will look after gawn, didn’t he get about 6 frees last time we played..
Whether it’s 1, 2, 3 or 15 rucks, Gawn will destroy them all.
Just concede defeat in that area and don’t waist another position on a ****ing ruck.
Finlayson for all his faults, is a better second ruck/forward, than sweet, Visentini and soldo will ever be.

Lycett was our no.1 ruck and nulified gawn and grundy, hes only good game that year.
It's more about the around the ground impact that you can try and nullify Gawn.
Vis is more likely to be in his vicinity and also to get into a position in the forward line that makes him accountable.
Up forward is the issue May and Lever will do te same job as Taylor and Buckley. Cant see us scoring.
Demons against Collingwood were:

They have been good for weeks, should of won past 2 games and been in or just on edge of 8.

So play a 2nd, let him sit up forward 75% of the game and have Lever or May getting to peel off of a slow lumbering ruck all day. Genius. If you thought Taylor and Buckley dominated, wait till you see how that goes.
Playing 2 rucks should not happen again, until we have a mobile option. Sweet or Vis will get beaten either way, why make it way worse and cripple the forward line.

Finlayson is the 4th KPF on the depth chart, with 2 & 3 injured he has to play.
Just play Dante and tell him to take it to Gawn physically. That's how Lycett nullified him. Use that aggression and smash into him for 4 quarters. 2 rucks costs us every single time we try it.

Has Sweet not been kicking goals in the SANFL, can he forward better than Finlayson?
In the last game, marked a long ball that kind of fell into his lap for 1 goal and took the ball from a ball up, and side stepped his way into space.
So he's scored goals as a ruckman in the forward 50, not through showing forward craft.
It kinda worked with Sweet and Dante in the final round against Freo last year. With Dante coming in and replacing Charlie Dixon.
Hasn't worked when we've tried it with Soldo & Sweet.
