I cannot remember the last time we beat Brisbane

Was it when Voss was coach?
That round 1 fluke a couple years back.

Theyve won 7 of the last 8, and those wins have either been through blistering patches we couldn't stop, or absolute spankings.

Average margin of 41 points.

Across a period we have finished top 4, 4 times.

Brisbane are absolutely our bogey side, they match up well on us and have the weapons to handle us with ease. They are significantly better stacked with talent than us, and when they get going, we will drop our bundle again. As we have in the last 2 outings, 48 and 79 point thrashings.

This will be ugly. Anyone thinking otherwise is kidding themselves.

Interesting to end up with a 3 tall forwardline, having played small for so long. Kicking aside, Visentini showed far more promise in the forward/ruck role than Finlayson or Lord this year, albeit that's a very low bar. Definitely better in that role than Sweet too.

It's the specialist position we've struggle to fill, so I can kinda see why they're giving it another go as part of a proper forward structure alongside 2 key forwards.

Also probably don't want to ruck Wines coming back from a knee injury.

Liddy unlucky. Five times he was involved in plays that resulted in a goal against Carlton, including a goal assist. Good problem to have when you need to leave out players in good form.
Vis as a third tall nearly worked last week. 1 goal and 3 behinds (2 were sitters). Hoping he gets it right this week.

Easily our best team selected this year and other than Todd Marshall probably full strength.
I will be really interested to see how the forward line performs.
Finally we get a chance to see if all that talk of a new system has merit.
Must admit the forward line has looked pretty dangerous since the Bye with plenty of movement. Actually read somewhere that we have taken the most inside 50 marks in the last 4 weeks.
You would think Luko will help that.

Extra tall forward like to stretch Brisbane lack of tall backs maybe?

The two ruck set up to preserve Dante and not run him into the ground and maybe give both rucks a chance to work on their weaknesses at AFL level.

Liddy getting a rest - wouldn’t surprise if he needs it, hasn’t had the pre season.

Jackson as the sub - seems to be able to impact for a quarter and a half then runs out of gas.

Evans out a little unlucky but he’s in that awkward 22-25 spot at the moment. Maybe needs another full SANFL game.

Actually pretty solid team.

If brissy are off and we bring it, it’ll be tight and we might sneak the upset. If they’re on, we aren’t up to it but need to show something.

Keen to see how we play Bergs - does he go to McCluggage or Neale or Dunkley? Who does Drew go to? Who takes Zorko?

Presume it’s Sinn to Ah Chee.

Pumped. Best side all year. No excuses now. The three forward talls will be interesting, vs Gardiner and Andrews.

The key matchup will be Visentini vs Harris Andrews. Feel like Andrew’s will take Vis and spend all night trying to get to Georgi and Luko. Vis has to get dangerous and/or draw Harris away from the contests.

Then there is how the quicker Brisbane backline can generate speed on the ball from defence and whether we can stop it - the Gabba being short between the arcs - this can get damaging.
