It has been a negative now for 12 years. Yes Rozee out of the middle might be the right call, but it doesn't change the fact this is how he always operates.

What's been a negative? Making a call deemed correct, so he tries it for a second week? The criticism doesn't even make sense. Just move on.

Rozee to HB spreads the class through the different lines/zones in our side. Reality is, the mix of Butters, JHF and one of Wines/Drew/Mead in the centresquare is about right.

With Rozee to HB, we now have 2-3 potential A-graders in that part of the ground: Rozee, Bergman, Aliir.
I think it's easier for Rozee with the ball coming at him from half back, he can line the thing read the play and use his speed and be creative which we were lacking down there.
I just don't think he has the ball hunt instinct to be a full time centre square mid.

The idea that Rozee can't be a midfielder is laughable, he's got two recent All Australian nods in that position. He was also our best midfielder in the first two games of this season. For me it's more a case of us being stacked in the midfield and looking to replace some of the drive from down back that Houston used to give us.

against colingwood, they for some reason put all their eggs in one basket and targeted horne francis, they let connor do whatever he wants, then we played the wooden spooners, its not exactly impressive to be our bog in those two games.

i do agree with your point highlighted in bold though

Finlayson better look like he gives a fukc if not he sucks the life out of the side, he's on watch if he serves that crap up he should never play again.
Can’t see him playing unless injuries. Guy has a f*** all attitude and it creeps into his footy. A shame cause he has talent but won’t ever maximise it.

If he does get delisted, there should be a couple of clubs ringing for his services such as Melbourne; they are dying for a tall forward but would he want to move interstate to maximise his earning opportunities without a family support network? I don’t think so.

The ball is in Finlayson’s hands if he wants to continue having an AFL career.

I have no problem playing Atkins IF there is no other viable option. Despite our obvious previous hatred for him, the guy can play a little and has the fitness to run out an entire match. He should be the break glass if emergency type player, not a regular spot clogger.

Hello, foreigner coming in here. Is there any chance Berry plays Sunday? Or will he just play tonight cause I saw he is listed for the magpies!

Hes made many calls that could be deemed lucky one week, only for them to be repeated and fail the next week. This has happened many times in the Hinkley era. Its an issue in his approach and shows an inability to understand why something works one week and not the next.

Rozee i dont disagree with, im not calling that change a mistake, I'm just highlighting Hinkleys simple mindedness.

Atkins has been our best performed winger/hbf at SANFL. Our game plan demands a lot of our HFFs, wingers and HBFs. We will need to rotate them across the season. Particularly the younger players like Moraes.

Also, if we are going to have a travelling emergency who will likely not end up playing and also will miss the SANFL game, it’s better that it’s a senior guy like Atkins than a junior like Lorenz.

IN: D Byrne-Jones 33
OUT: J Berry 5 (omitted)

Darcy Byrne-Jones has been selected for Port Adelaide’s clash against Sydney at the SCG this Sunday afternoon.

Rozee made a comment in his post game interview that he was able to assist with setting up the structure of the defence from the HB role. Don’t know if that is just fluff, but it was most certainly the best our defence has been setup structurally for a long time.

Just tells you that Port didn’t really have a leader in the back half.

Something I have thought for some time.

A few people in the review thread noticed that Rozee was setting up the defence and apart from a stellar game, it was awesome to hear that he was leading the defence.
