Iles? Well, I didn't see that coming, can any of our VFL experts shed light on whether he is not only just ready or not, but if he will do well at AFL level? Good to have Daisy back nonetheless.

I am new as anyone to Sammy Iles...is he a more attacking player than a Licuria? As we all think, the selection astounds me, and Thomas was said to have another week off as the injury is a 2-3 week thing.

MM gives games to players that improve sides of their games dramatically over a few weeks. Iles has probably done that. Licuria's kicking was poor as I've ever seen for Willy but then again he wouldn't have the options he would have at AFL level. Iles was much more impressive last week than I've seen him before.

Licca has some good meomories of that ground, played a couple of blinders at AAMI. Then again, he was part of that drubbing last year. Interesting, as pointed out, its a clear indication that Mick wants pace, as all I know about Iles is that he goes a bit.

Sorry to anyone who has noticed i have posted this already on another thread but probably more apropriate on this one.

Anyone think there is a chance of Licka being a late call up on Saturday night. Maybe Thomas out and Licka in or something like that, i just can not believe Licka wouldnt play.

The Crows have a quick midfield so to pick Licca is probably not the best selection I think. Nothing against him, he is a very hard working player.

Is a better than 50/50 bet I think

Just seems like a strange set of changes. I really think MM is playing a few games with the crows re selection. I also dont think Thomas could be ready to play and even if he is hes going to get crunched on the shoulder in the first minute of the game. And to bring in new blood like ills why against the top team in the comp and such an imprtant game, now thats going to be pressure. I just cant see it happening.

Yeah like i said in the other thread i agree with that, it really donest make sense as u said DJ, seems kinda of wierd and prehaps stupid playing a first gamer in such an important game and on an away ground. But prehaps licca will come in for someone else? I still like to see him in the team despite his lack of pace and his not so good disposals this year, experience/hardness must count for something? I really hope that we are very competitive this weekend as we will know where we will stand after the game, especially as adelaide is on the rebound from a loss they will be looking for a win, lets just hope this taz and johson fiasco hasnt done any damage, those two better play extremely well!!

I've seen Iles play three times.

Is just under 6' and has a bit of toe. Can kick pretty well and exhibit good vision.

Drawbacks would have included getting run down a few times ala Cole, due to poor awareness. Sometimes misplaces himself at contests too.

He's a 50:50 proposition, as his PSD draft placing would suggest, but his good is actually quite good. I think his best possie will be as a running defender, as defenders don't need a freakish amount of footy nous. Hopefully he'll perform well and free up Heater one day.

As for playing Satdy, I'll believe it when I see it.

Interesting to see, Iles, Thomas, Egan, T.Cloke, Pendlebury in the same team, all first or second year players. But then again we had Davies in instead of Iles last week and that went alright.
Things look very good for the future

I guess Iles is a favourite among Mick? Remember, Iles played a game in the black and white over at Subiaco against Freo in the NAB Cup. He suffered exhaustion after a short period of time for memory. He played a good game from all reports last week, and Mick has bought him straight in.
