I think some people have their facebook fan page blinkers on when it comes to Shuey.

If it was good bloke Hodgey hitting Dangerfield we'd all be demanding he gets a week, and conversely the vic media would probably find a way to get him off.

I'm glad Shuey hit Danger, but any other day and Dangerfield doesn't get straight back up and that's a clear suspension, no doubt about it.

Depends if the MRP deem it intentional or reckless. It is what it is, but Shuey put himself in this position by laying out their best player off the ball. I liked it but you can't complain about it when he gets cited. Cop the whack and move on.

What a turd Gary Lyon is by doing his darnest to get Shuey rubbed out on behalf of his old demons! Shuey didn't run through the player, but ran to him turned and blocked Selwood stopped him cold and keeping him from the play. Nothing in it. Play on!

Gary Lyon is a blight on the game and shouldn't be in the job he currently is. He hates the Eagles and grinds that ax at every opportunity, incredibly bias commentator. Roots his mates wife and throws up I'm depressed defense so people don't take him to task.

Vilified players due to their race as a player more than once.

Dead set moron.

Why he hates the Eagles so much is what I want to know

Agree with the first bit re Duggan replacing Nelson as HBF since that's what he basically did after half time against Geelong with good effect

More inclined to put Karpany into Duggans role or even Partington despite his sub par game today
My thinking is that Karpany will come in for LeCras. I would be happy to see partington in, though.

I cant stand his clear Bias. Softest "big" man to play the game I reckon.

Surprised there's no calls for Shep to be dropped. Was really poor I thought and has been most of the season.
Straight swap for Wellingham.
o_O
One of the first selected IMO. His magnet should never leave the team board.

Not one of your clowns listed Butler as an IN

This will be the entire WC board Saturday night after Butler dominates the Dee's small forwards

Good question. Maybe someone should ask him.

It going past pathetic his criticism of the Eagles, it's an obsession with some deep roots for some reason. Maybe Jacovich toweled him up a few times, Wosha smashed him or we ended his flag hopes a couple of times.

I think if Lecras is dropped and on form he should be he will retire immediately, I just cannot see him putting an East Perth jumper on.
Now just out of curiosity can he be cleared to play for West Perth if he did retire??
Lol someone's barracking hard to get LeCras to West Perth aren't they?!

He won't go anywhere, he'll get a week off from footy all together if he's dropped and then be brought back in for an underperforming player.

Simmo said that they will persist with the proven underperforming players at team selection last Wednesday so after a win unless lecras has a rest I doubt he will be dropped .

Venables sounds like he will be in contention though when he is right to play in a month or so !

There's no way it should be intentional. Would be a joke if he got a week the way the MRP works

I'm not sure whether you are fundamentally misunderstanding the criteria in regards to intentional and reckless/careless. That refers to whether Shuey intentionally made contact with Dangerfield's head, not as to whether Shuey intentionally bumped him. He didn't intentionally get Dangerfield in the head.

Great thanks. I've been given a ticket to the game, bay 143, guessing ill be in amongst you guys then :thumbsu:
Bay 143 is at the city end so you'll be closer to the Melbourne cheer squad

Judging by EP performances;

IN: Karpany, Wellingham, Kennedy, Lycett/Giles (if Gawn named)

OUT: LeCras, Nelson, Mackenzie, Petrie

Melbourne's forward line is too small for 4 KPD's and neither Lycett or Giles are required if Gawn waits another week.

According to reports Lycett and Giles are still underdone. Would also be cautious about Kennedy - calf injuries are not easy to overcome.

We humiliated him and is team when he was playing.

melbourne are full of the entitled who think 'we are the oldest club we must be the most respected' - where these new not real teams (who financially saved the VFL). That why they tanked- win at all cost just like the jabbers. absolute ego

OUT: Nelson, Shuey
IN: Redden, Masten

Melbourne has a deep midfield so I think it makes sense to bring in two midfielders.

Back Le Cras in to bounce back.

This is gonna be a real test this game.

Melbourne full of belief right now and Gawn comes back (hopefully underdone)

Boys have to bring that pressure like they did v Cats, interesting to see how they back it up.

Play like the doe prior to the that and it be a similar game like v GWS & GCS

Think maybe because we knocked Melbourne out the finals once when he was playing?
We had a pretty fierce rivalry with Melbourne in the early 90's. In fact it'd be fair to say they were the first side we had that with

Melbourne beat us in our first final in 1988 when Wrenstead missed a running shot at goal in the last minute that would have put us in front. Early days they had our measure winning 6 of the first 8 games between the two sides

We then spanked them in the 1990 first semi-final in an upset - that was the days when there were no finals outside Victoria at all so we had to travel despite finishing higher on the ladder (on percentage) and it was our 5th consecutive away game after H&A games at Carrara and Kardinia Park to end the season then consecutive qualifying finals against Collingwood due to the drawn first final. It was also our first finals win

After that we dominated Melbourne in 90's winning 14-2 including that final and knocking Melbourne out in the 1991 first semi-final (in Melbourne with that finals thing again) and the 1994 prelim final at the WACA. Our average winning margin in those games was close to 8 goals. Lyon finished playing in 1999 so for most of his career was used to getting his arse handed to him by west coast

Melbourne were also one of the teams that would regularly racially sledge Lewis which has been admitted by Lyon and was a factor in the Lewis-Viney biting incident. So there was some bad blood between the teams during Lyons playing career

Great post Keys. Also great memory. Lyon would have come up against Jackovich at his best?
