I think we are getting a bit off topic. From watching the reserves today I though Polkinghorne was very good but Banfield is something special. He may not play in the short term but will be something to watch in the future. Henderson played CHF/FF and was very solid, whilst Roe gave terrific drive out of the back half. Harding and Notting were okay whilst Cornelius competed well in the ruck. Tyler didnt play I think..not sure why

The only conflict that is happening was dreamt up by your good self after we posted similar posts at same time.

Already mentioned Roe. Collier was solid...looked to take them on at all times off half back and it would not surprise me if he came back in at the expense of Stiller. Redden was not especially prevelant but everything he did was classy and his tackling and attack on the footy (in the wet) belies his current size. I believe in Rich, Redden and Banfield the recruiting staff have done really well last year

I'm not convinced that we should bring J.Roe in. What does he offer us that we don't already have with Drummond, MacDonald and Patfull? Henderson would be my choice to come in if Clark is injured, as he is more capable of playing at either end than Roe.

Collier could be a possible tagging option for Goodes, so I would not be surprised at all if he came in for either Stiller or Selwood.

Agree with your point about Roe but he did play well today at Morningside from what I saw. Very strong defensively, good leap, hard at it. Collier however looked to a little tired, can't see him tagging Goodes over a fairly effective Selwood and fit Stiller.

Cannot drop Selwood this week. Has played on Goodes in the past and done an okay job, however he is still our best option to do this role. I was very surprised we decided to keep Stiller and drop Collier last week against a strong running Carlton midfield/forward line. Could of used his extra run and attack out of defence.

Stiller has to go IMO.

I'm a fan of Stiller and hope he stays in the team but one thing I notice (well noticed against Carlton) - when he gets the ball through the middle, his first movement is to hold it up and look sideways/back. Kind of kills the momentum a bit. Fair enough if the option up forward isn't there but I noticed it happen a few times.

I'm pretty sure Goodes has ripped us up most times we've played them in recent memory, apart from once in 2007 when Hadley put in a reasonable effort on him.

This is a valid point. Quite easy to swap a fringe player for another fringe player week in week out. But we rarely end up better off. The player that comes in is either out again the next week, or hangs around for a couple of weeks and ends up making way for the player they originally replaced.

On a side note, maybe Collier was tired because he was the travelling emergency. Sat in the box with Vossy for the entire night and either flew back that night or first thing in the morning to make the ressies game.
