Changes v Gold Coast

Is anyone actually worried if we only take one second-gamer KPD over the GC? I mean, will it seriously affect the overall margin if we replaced Schoey with a small defender? We've done such a good job of limiting inside 50s lately, and coming up against one of the most decimated midfields of the past decade. :drunk:

Yeo and Rosa will go back if schofield is hurt. Given mid injuries to them sheed priddis shuey lecras gaff masten cripps nicnat will cope. Also its not like Hurn is a crab midget lol

I could not find any flights direct to Cooolangatta. Travelocity came up with this response.

Do you think the AFL would be generous to charter a flight for the Western Australian teams?
The team actually leaves Thursday afternoon for a Saturday game. There is a virgin flight from Perth direct to GC at 1430.
Also a direct flight home at 0900 on Sunday morning.

Hutchings?

No way. He needs to get some game time under his belt.

I say only forced changes and don't rest players for rests sake.

Not resting either, Hill has been struggling and looked injured on the weekend and for me Hutch isn't quite best 22

Yep - virgin have been good to us

Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't Lamb spend some time down back as junior? I know he's still returning from injury but he could be another option to bring in.

I think his jumper number (34) more closely indicates what position he is at with the club.
For me, Hutch is purely depth and the sooner we have Nelson, Duggan and Lamb ready to play the better.
He makes a decent sub provided the pace is out of the game when he comes on.

He might actually like that number. We have had many players have long and fruitful careers with high numbers.

Also the theory doesn't hold weight because it runs on a slow feedback. Say he does want to change to a lower number, it is possible that the club has changed their opinion of him since numbers were assigned late last year.

Well is Schofield a definite out? If yes then Duggan to come in and well have to make sure that we have the dominant inside 50's. Also heard good news on the GOV, should be ready hopefully for the Hawks game but would not want to risk him given how important he his.

The coaches HATED Ryan Turnbull

If Schofield does miss this week. The possible solutions would be:

A small defender from the WAFL (Butler/Nelson/Bennell) - not a tall so we would have to play Rosa/Yeo down back, which would give us 1 extra defender and 1 less midfield rotation
A midfielder from the WAFL (Lucas/McGinnity/College) - again, play Rosa/Yeo down back and keep the same team balance
A taller defender from the WAFL (Brophy/Lamb) Straight in/out but a very raw, and slightly undersized player
A ruckman from the WAFL (Lycett) Lycett to play 2nd ruck and Sinclair to play on the 200cm Dixon in defence... back to the 3 ruckman policy...

Probably the best week to be missing both the Gov and Schofield. Good experience for Barrass also being the main man so to speak against Lynch and co.
