Can't help feeling negative still. I think we will lose and next week it will be Redden for Jetta.

I think they'll give Jetta a few games to try to find form, having him bounce between levels has done him no good.

Here's the thing, the best 22 as it is assembled probably IS too old (especially given that they're not like Hawthorn of the last two years and strongly in premiership contention). But you don't look at the players on the field and say "we don't have enough under 25" during the season unless you're toward the bottom of the ladder and have no hope of contending. That's a list management issue. You move guys on between seasons, like Geelong did with Enright and Bartel (even though those guys probably could have had another good year or two left in them). During the year you play your best 22.

Before next season is when they should look at moving on some of the old players as well as the ones who are near 30 and are only of the fringe of being best 22.

There have been others on this board who have suspected the same. No need to be a prick.

I'd make the same statement to them if they made outlandish statements about one bloke on the match committee and linked it to a complete overhaul of the board.

Ooh that's a bit prickly of you.
Simmo's a big boy, if he doesn't agree with something he can stand up and say so. That's if there is anything to your conspiracy theory which I doubt.

But seriously your entire theory is based on what you've read on BigFooty though, right?

Not dramatic changes ,just a few changes . The club at 6/3 isnt quite in the Freo basket case situation at the start of the year and realistically the youngsters en masse are 12 months away from being able to slot into the side and have an effect the Freo youth did . Partington , Mutimer, Cole , Venables ,Rioli and Lamb this time next year should be a different story

Yep, what were people expecting 10 changes with 8 debutants against the class of GWS.

I'm not saying he isn't, I just have never heard anything but throw-away, unsubstantiated one-liners, without any substance to them.
Ken Judge was probably a good source. And it was a bit odd to bring Gepp back into a bullshit role that would allow him to do the exact same job that he did when Judge was coach.

I'm with ep2006 on Gepp

Been there since the Malthouse days and I've no doubt he did some valuable work back then but through our troubled 2000's his role seems somewhat murky. Judge certainly didn't have anything kind to say about him

If there's one thing that epitomises my view it's that he was in Las Vegas "chaperoning" the players in 2006 when Fletcher flatlined - given the secrecy surrounding that I'd suggest Gepp was more Mr Wolf than Mary Poppins

He'd left the club but was brought back in as Chairman of Selectors when Simpson was appointed

It doesn't pass the smell test
