Interesting data on AFL Footy On The Couch tonight showing the West Coast leaders not standing up in oyr losses.

Shows Ranking points for our top 10 when we win and lose.

So this is really the flat track bully club with Yeo, JK, Sam, Hurn and Mcgov as the serial offenders.

So when our good players play well we win and when they don't we lose

In other news the sky is blue

Simpleton analysis that has the appearance of being insightful but really isn't. Do that same analysis for any other club and it'll look similar

Who has gone past P.Cripps, if you don't mind me asking?
2 years ago cripps was on par with the bont. He's gone passed him. Kelly has also gone passed so has Zerret. Then there's a few players catching up to him like billings and M.Crouch. It may not be alot of 18 months ago he was rated as probably the top 2 pick from his draft but now that these guys have pysically matured, they all seem to catch up to him.

Cripps IMO will be elite but other than size and contested work he isn't as dangerous as others.

Hate how we have a good utility type player in Schofield yet we can't find a position for him.

Hate how we are developing Nelson more as a half back.

Not as a midfielder with a bit of mongrel who can win his own ball.

Hate how we decided to Bulk Barrass up way too much in one off season.

Hate how we always think we only lose because we didn't have the right intent, and not that our game plan sucks on a wider ground and is easily cut to ribbons.

Hate how a 34 year old Sam Mitchell isn't our savior.

Hate Redden as a Footballer would make a nice friend though......

Hate how Mark Robinson was right in saying he would play Mark Hutchings because at least he has a crack.

Hate how Mark Hutchings is our savior according to Mark Robinson.......

Hate how we don't have a token short guy that runs rings around oppositions.

Hate how I got made redundant today.

Hate how I was given a Viagra to try but it's white not blue.

Hate how I'll most likely try it anyway and either my tool will explode or my heart maybe both.....

Hate how I have bothered writing all this in the wrong thread.

Conversely it's not your call to say Eric should be given another crack?

Why go back to him, when we need to develop Barrass?

I'm intrigued as to your constant pumping up Erics inclusion. That is going backwards.

We are developing Barrass but I`m not that happy at times with his defensive work sure he looks fantastic under the highball with his marking and spoiling but he is very slow and lumbering doesn`t lay tackles or chase is easily outbodied and slow on a fast break lead also falls over and is always slow to get back up ..
Teams are working out how not to kick the long ball in and as Woosha said at quarter time" WCE structure up to force the high kick to Gov or Yeo so to beat this they were trying to increase their phsicality and fast ball movement though the middle " ..

Emac has experience and can give leadership down back plus I'm not convinced he is finished he has been paying forward and back so fitness is building nicely ,could be very important in any finals game we play if we make it..

In what way is Cripps washed up?

Very important player for us.

His strength is his running power and pace. This year and last he seems exhausted when he's near the ball and had also lost a yard of pace. For mine, he is fast becoming a one dimensional player.

Hate how you still haven't told the rest of us how you are going to close the door on the microwave with your head inside.

If we don't drop Redden I'll put my head in the ******* Microwave !!!

Simpson, in recent interviews, seems to be a big fan of Cripps & what he brings to the game plan.
Redden has to go this week....perhaps get Mutimer into the guts, where he has been playing at East Perth, see how he goes, and bring in Karpany or return Hill to play the hff role. Wouldn't like to see huge changes, this year seems so open at the moment and a way to go yet.
Personally haven't put our chances to rest, yet, so not of the thinking to play a lot of youth at any cost.
Hopefully Willie, Partington, Venables and Watson keep building and making a strong case after bye. (None are ready ATM).
Nelson must come in IMHO...perhaps a forced changed if Wellingham's ankle no good, otherwise for Butler, (apologies Heretotellyou).
Of course, Hutchings for Redden might be what happens. I'm trying to get youth in without overload that may cost us games.

Not sure yet.....

But let me tell you about a microwave story...
I had a pet rabbit when I was a kid one morning I went out to share a carrot with Bouncy the rabbit and he was frozen solid.

Been a quick thinker unlike Redden I put him in the Microwave zapped him for 40 seconds

And you wouldn't ****ing believe it out hops bouncy the rabbit !!

Nelson for Wellingham - Nelson probably isn't ready but if Wellingham misses with injury this will have to be the change.

Partington for Mutimer - Not much more than a shake up but Partington might be fitter than Kurt and he might have more of an aptitude to play as a forward, given his size (I'm just assuming he's more nippy and totally guessing he's more fit). Either way, Parto deserves his chance, he probably wont give us much less than Mutimer and, right now, the few minutes he gets in the middle should help him more than they help Muts. There's also the fact that GWS likely wont know what exploitable weaknesses Parto has compared to Mutimer.

MacKenzie for Barrass - This balances out with Nelson (young) coming in for Wellingham (old). Barrass looks a little down on confidence and I think teams are working out how to neutralise our intercepting defence, which suggests a shake up might be helpful. I also think MacKenzie is a slightly better match up for Patton even though Patton ruined Ezy in that preseason game. Furthermore, I think we have to give MacKenzie another chance before the season ends and we declare him cooked at WC. Giving him a try against a cellar dweller with no forward potency wont show us what Eric really has left, so I think this is the game to give him a run.

Hutchings for Redden - I'm still not 100% on this one but the midfield has been a problem for 4 of the last 5 game and we don't have a gun senior player to come in so it has to be Hutch. As for Redden, I'm not sure if he's playing defensively but he's not doing enough right now.

Petrie for McInnes* - Ok, so we all know McInnes is our next superstar but if we're not going to use him in the ruck he doesn't deserve his spot... Things are complicated though - the fact that McInnes can play as a tall defender might work out well against the tall forwards GWS have. Ezy takes Patton, McInnes helps (and holds on for dear life) on Cameron and McGovern floats around. On the other side of the coin, we've been so shit at clearances that trying something new is probably better than the status quo, particularly since Hutchings for Redden wont move the needle, so there is an argument for Petrie.

Anyhow, that's 5 changes and a fair shake up.

*Joke suggesting. Please disregard.

EDIT: I should never post late at night. Totally forgot about Hill. Perhaps he comes in for Mutimer, youth be damned.

Two quick things reading your story about Bouncy the rabbit
1. Bouncy sounds like one tough hombre, (40 secs in a microwave, f###), but doubt he/she will be selected for WCE this week.
2. quick thinking does does not always correlate to correct decision making. Rug & a cuddle would've probable sufficed, but, what the hell do I know.....wragles to start a home based cryogenic business.

W

Whats the solution in your opinion - srs question - as we have to surely make some changes after that debacle against Essendon.
Petrie is not the answer IMO, as I said youth and enthusiasm. Keep Mciness in and give him a run, if he crabs it after a couple of games THEN flick him if for Petrie if Petrie is dominating WAFL.

Bouncy was a tough hombre. Until he contracted myxomatosis and I had to put him down with a hit over the hit with my skate board.

Sheed can kick and contributes more goals, I don't think he's Priddis 2.0
Granted, Sheed is a pretty good kick. I just don't think people realise how good Priddis has been . He has carried the midfield pretty much unassisted for years. Now that he is older/slower and possibly restricted from injury the players who should be standing up are being shown up ! Yes, Priddis isn't a match winner, but he hasn't had anyone other than Shuey (who was almost disgraceful against the Dons) to lighten the load.

I'll put my changes in before Thursday but what I DON'T want to see is Mutimer dropped and Hill back.

Hutchings for Redden needs to happen as well and Nelson for Butler.

Yes, Shuey's poor game has pretty well gone unnoticed. In particular when Danaher kicked his fourth I think with that rover's snap. Shuey fumbled the ball, saw Danaher ahead of him and hesitated or pulled up. Not a good look.
