Changes v Melbourne

That last clip with McGovern and Wellingham gives you so much confidence about how our team is playing at the moment.

Wellingham is great in defense ....it's by far his best spot

Simmo doing his usual pre-flight presser. Has confirmed Schoey, Gov, Cripps are all right to play

Great news. If Duggan or Sheed miss the 22 perhaps Hutchings may travel as the emergency so they can get a full game. Otherwise you'd think butler would be travelling emergency.

Love the way simmo comes across, no bullshit answers to the media or silly games, just comes out and says it. I hate to say this as I'm sure a few of the freo spies will report it back to their board, but it has a very Ross Lyon, freo feel to it all. Comes over and takes the first half of his first year to get going, some bad losses and some fans are not happy with him (remember the outcry after the first derby in 2012?) then in the second half of the year things start to click and players that seemed doomed start to show something and start playing as a team, and the wins start coming. Then the next year, shoot up the ladder and surprise a few. Just has that same sort of feel to it that freos 2012/13 had.

Got a feeling in my loins that Duggo will be forced out of the team this week.

That crab is going to keep is spot in the midfield, unless they fake an injury. Selwood (omitted) will not be seen on the team sheets on thursday.
is it a case of managing a kid and not burning him out. miss a long flight for a game that should be won and give him a solid two week AFL level break to freshen up.

It will mean that he's only played a quarter in three weeks. Too much of a break for me.

Matt Rosa appears to be dropped for @WestCoastEagles game v Melb, squad of 23 boarding plane to Darwin, Hutchings & Butler in, Rosa out

I'm pretty sure I said it last time we were expecting a wet game, but maybe Hutch is going to come in to add a bit of strength around the contest? Seems the ferfect type of wet/slippery weather player, hard at it, not anything special, just bust through and bnag it forward.

Would rather Selwood out tbh but Rosa did have extended issues after the last flight so this makes a lot of sense as a precautionary decision to let him play in the two's rather than risk his body over a long flight.

Coaches (Hickmont I think) have been making the point that Melbourne mids are strong and experienced. Not the kids they are made out to be.
you may be on the money.

Surely you jest? Duggan and Gov were in green vests also..

Indeed and Duggan is on the fringe as well.

If you look at some of the that drill it is clearly separated (especially the midfield) into blue and green or the A team and the B team

Each end of the ground you can often ignore as they may not be utilising a full ground drill. ie forwards were blue and defender's green
