If Schofield doesn't get up (like what happened with his mysterious ongoing ankle concern early in the year) then next week's game would be a great one for Barrass to debut in. Melbourne forwards have been decent lately but the delivery to them has still been shocking all year.

How good would it be to see him come in against Melb and blanket Hogan on debut. *optimism*

I think Schoey deserves a rest even if he is right go.

Also if Cripps is not a 100% i wonder if maybe we could bring in Newman? Think he is right to go and we can upgrade him.

Out: Schoey
In: Barrass

Don't want to start resting blokes because we think we've got the game in the bag, this year has shown almost any team can win on any given day. Plus they will have just had 2 weeks off so if there's no forced changes, we should be keeping the side as stable as possible. Also Melbourne will have hogan back, so Schoey will be useful to help out McGovern. Who else are their big forwards???

Dawes is their main 2nd tall, but they have Gawn & spencer who rotate through. Plus throw in Howe who plays much taller than he is. Watts has been playing off the wing, but may float through there.

Makeshift at times, especially when hogan isn't there, but can be effective if the delivery is right. Certainly plenty of height, but we could certainly run them off their feet once the ball hits the ground.

The big thing will be seeing which melbourne turns up- they have been accused of playing safe footy against the better teams to stop being thumped, but fast attacking footy when they think they can win.

Melbourne is far better than Carlton, and Carlton just beat last year's prelim finalists.

I think we got a bit used to there being certain wins in recent years, with Melbourne being awful for years and GC/GWS being full of children.

But the way the comp is evened out, there really should never be any certain wins

Two Claremont graduates going head to head. I like the sound of that one.

Gold Coast at home earlier in the year was and probably will be the only certainty I have assumed this year.

I've tipped us twice this year, that game, & against the Bombers, I will likely tip us against Melbourne, so by my logic, that means we win:drunk:

We are in NO position to be resting players, get that out of your head peeps.

Then we are not in premiership mode, but development mode, and therefore would be beneficial to get games into guys like Barrass this year.

If we don't need to rest Gov or Schofield I still believe there is an opportunity to play Barrass as well and give him a game or two before he may be required to stand next to a Roughy or Tippett in a final on debut.

IF Schofield gets up then play him, otherwise bring Barrass in

Schoey doesn't rest. The world eases up around him.

Agreed, we are not in the Hawthorn, Sydney, Fremantle bracket as yet. So we have to play our best team every week unless they cannot play due to injury or suspension.

Hey people, just on the weather thing - normally it turns into a humid game and a slip-a-thon. Basically wet weather football except it's 28 degrees. They are very draining games for the players.

What is your best guess at your team?
B: Jetta Dunn Garland
HB: Lumumba McDonald Cross
C: Toumpas N Jones Watts
HF: Howe Dawes Brayshaw
F: Garlett Hogan Stretch
Fol: Gawn Viney Vince
Int: M Jones Tyson Neal-Bullen (Riley)

IN: Hogan, Garland
OUT: Bail, Spencer

In terms of actual functionality:

LeCras - When forward, Garland will take him. Midfield not sure...might be let off.
JJK - McDonald. Obvious matchup. Matchup suits TMac too (as opposed to a Cloke or Darling style forward)
Darling - Dunn. Another obvious. Assuming he plays - is he fit?

The midfield is more interesting. Viney and Vince will probably both play those license to play off tagging roles that they have done so well in. The question is who - I think it'll be two of Priddis, Gaff and Shuey but it's the question of which two. Think it'll be Gaff and Shuey - Nath Jones will go head to head with Priddis and then Brayshaw will just go mental as he does.
