Is Sheed an automatic in? I am not so sure he has attributes that have him head and shoulders above some of the other mids we have.

Starting to think Shep may well be the most courageous player the eagles have ever had. Waters was tough, wouldnt flinch running backwards knowing traffic was coming, many other tough players over the years.

Shep goes headfirst into trouble time and time again. must pull up very sore after most games.

When he does go into those contests, the outcome overwhelming ends up in our favour, so I think he is quite smart how he goes about it.
Most improved for sure, back to his '15 form, but had taken that to a new level. Was in beast mode yesterday and had been all year.

Shuey just done a little video. Will be running by end of the week. Sunday game helps. That would be 2 weeks in time since the last game. Reckon hes a chance for friday fitness test.

If this were a Saturday night game I would be expecting a record crowd, too.

Sunday though? 48-50K would be the pass mark I reckon.

We got 54k against Geelong in the same time slot so hopefully we can match that plus a little more! At least 52k rabid screaming WCE fans I hope :)

In mcgovern natanui sheed jetta

Just checked out the richmond board and **** me you would think they had won a 3peat the way they carry on .

Not even hawks had that level of bath water drinking .
Shit like this.

If West Coast is our biggest challenger, might as well give us the cup now.

I hope Nic Nat shitmixes all of the smug campaigners

Would only make one change. Petrucelle for Cole. Hutchings may come in handy for a run with role. Pet use to play half back in the juniors didn't he? I'd rather have him kicking goals in the Forward line but he can have stints at half back to rotate with Duggan.
We need pace for the tigers.

I already knew about that and was going to post it myself, fact remains he wasn't BOG in the majority of people's eyes. The vast majority of posters have assessed his game as spectators and viewed it as such. These are people hanging on every disposal and contest as they watch the game, not people who are at work, fixing problems, looking at structures off the ball and having internal discussions all whilst expected to see every contest in the game (they don't trust me).

The coaches votes are an indication of a good game for sure, but do you rescind any opinions you had on a game based on the coaches votes? I'm not so fickle. I doubt any of the other posters on here would change their votes because the coaches have given different votes.

Everything I posted stands, go watch the game again if you like. If you watch that game again and consider him to be the best player that's fine but I still don't.

Again, not arguing Sheed is poo or not best 22. He has more upside than Hutchings. I am arguing that an injured Sheed is better than an in form Hutchings, as well as questioning whether he's being rushed in for no reason and if he's truly read.

Hutchings by the way who I consider to be one of the strongest tacklers in our team and somebody who isn't just skirting around packs and jogging behind people. Sheed obviously is a much better user by foot and generally speaking is cleaner by hand (although he's been fumbly this year in space). He is a better clearance player.

But go don't diss Hutching's body of work, last week he was very good after dropping the tag in the second half, he has laid 19 tackles the past two weeks and done a great job.

Just FYI in the votes thread:
Shep - 252
NN - 232
Shuey - 150
Sheed - 108

Out of 61 people who gave votes:
Sheed awarded 5 votes - 4 times
Sheed awarded 0 votes - 21 times

and friggin lol at anyone saying a fit Sheed isn't best 22. Been paying attention this year?
The problem is this isn't "a fit Sheed".

It's Sheed coming back from injury at Optus Stadium, which is creating issues for players as it is. Please learn to comprehend my posts before commenting. I'm simply questioning the notion that Sheed is an automatic inclusion coming back from injury on a hard surface when we have covered him well.

However, this is all a moot point because I was arguing based on the possibility of Ah Chee or Hutchings being an out, forgetting that Ainsworth is going to get dropped if anybody.

By the way, I was just stating he hasn't been BOG and I stand by that.
I don't think he's been BOG this year. He has been accumulating numbers with bad results on games early and then having much better second halves.

I forgot about Ainsworth though, he'll come in for Ainsworth.

I know you love your memes and stuff, but do you think we missed him the week after he was gone?

Hutchings put in one hell of a game that covered the loss very well :)

27 tocuhes (15 contested, 2nd highest on the field)
7 clearances (equal second on the field)
10 tackles (most on the field)
5 frees for (most on the field)
1 "clutchings" goal
23 pressure acts (3rd highest on field)

Hutchings is a wonderful 23rd/24th player. Exactly what we need to go all the way.

However I’d have Sheed in the side over Hutchings every day of the week. Regardless of the snapshot of the excellent stats you’ve mentioned.

Let me fire something back at you though..

Did we miss Nic Nat this week?

Everyone is doing a role and a job.

If Sheed isn’t fit, awesome keep Mark in. If he is, then Mark has a job ahead of him.

Hutchings does have him covered for tackles however, that cannot be argued.

I would argue we did miss Naitanui in the sense that Mcinnes didn't put up equal numbers to Naitanui, whereas Hutchings is capable and has proved to be able to equal Sheed's output.

I think we bought Jetta back too early, only for him to miss a second time a week later. I question whether Sheed needs to be in the team right now for the worry of winning against the Tigers at home, when we don't need him in particular on any given week, but obviously want him in the team long term.

I get the idea of not wanting to make changes to a winning team, solider out soldier in squad mentality and all that but let's not kid ourselves... if Naitanui,Sheed,Jetta & McGovern are fit and available then they're coming straight back in.
